How embarassing is it when you are playing in the state playoffs and the team is kneeling it instead of going for the conversion.

Great comments by the CT coach in the TD today. "we played them tough for a quarter" Are you kidding me, they were at the point that they were putting band members in the game because it was so out of control. Did he really think that they played them tough? FH losing by one was playing someone close.

Give the Indians credit for getting to the Q final. Nothing to be ashamed of.

But putting these kids in this position is not even close to being fair. They were at such a huge disadvantage coming out of the pitiful pitiful WESTPAC. Lack of competition was the issue. There is NONE in WESTPAC. Playing all season in WESTPAC and then facing Clairton??? Are you kidding me??? Just wasn't fair to the kids.

wasn't fair to the kids?
what are you talking about, that is the dumbest comment I have ever seen.
This is high school football, all of the players are high school students in the state of PA in schools that are similar in size, in fact Clairton is actually smaller in numbers than CT.

Not only did CT play in the weakest conference and district in the state, they got a week bye to heal any injuries,

the only thing that is unfair is that the piaa does not address district 5 and 6 and redistribute the schools.
if ct plays in 6, they would have been at best #4 behind bm, bellwood and obviously portage.

Youngbuck says: "CT play in the weakest conference and district in the state"

Maybe you better check the "AA" Brackets before you make such a comment. Maligned and sub .500 5-AA Champ Bedford, beat both the District 8 and District 9 Champ this year. How can District 5 be the weakest when their AA Champ, who probably would not beat 5-A champ CT, wins games over two other districts champions?

Roadie,

My observation, which is supported by anyone who follows PA high school football, was that the WESTPAC is the weakest conference in the state. Although also from district 5, Bedford plays in the LHAC, not the WESTPAC. They do not get to play power houses and juggernauts like Ferndale, Conamaugh Valley, Rockwood-Turkeyfoot, etc like the Indians do-- so I can see where you would think the Indians are the best in district 5 ---with all the superior competition and all.

If the West PAC is the weakest then where does the ICC fit in? In head to head match-ups the West PAC generally wins out over ICC opponents in the playoffs.

I would say year in and year out that Bellwood is the best Program in either conference but overall I think the West PAC is a better conference than the ICC.

I didn't mention the WestPac or any conference in my post.
I took exception to District 5 being considered the weakest District in the state when our AA champion defeated two other District Champions.

It's hard to say for sure in Class "A" but I think Twp. may have been good enough to beat the champs from Districts 1, 2, and possibly Clarion from D9.

At any rate, although it is the smallest district, I don't think it's necessarily the worst. You other guys can argue about conferences, I'm sure there are some in other areas of the state that aren't the strongest either.
