Here is my dream solution.

Here is my dream solution.
Ok I was asked how i would solve the Big East problem if they were dropped to a 7 team league. Obviously just pick up a C-USA team and try to keep on keepin on. But Here is what I think may happen in the future and I think would actually benefit the whole Big East. I have actually heard rumors similar to this and I added my own twist on the end. Ok 16 teams in the Big East right? Eventually I hear this league will split in two. The Football teams will be one conference and the non football teams will be their own separate thing. SO assuming all the teams of the Big East football stay together. That gives you Pitt WVU Cincy Louisville USF Rutgers UConn and Syracuse. Why not add 4 teams? Sure they aren't gonna be any good and their not going to be anywhere close academically to make this a good academically prestige league, but oh well.. You can't expect things to be perfect instantly.. I would go after Central Florida, Memdphis,East Carolina and Buffalo...yes Buffalo. These schools are no where near on par with most things that current Big East members are, but give them a few years playing on the Big East these schools will get better. Cincy USF and Louisville have done nothing but improved since leaving C-USA. They can recruit better, play in more televised games, get better exposure, and have the opportunity to go to the BCS along with a big pay out in the Big East Title game. There is no doubt with a few years UCF can't be exactly where USF is. And with losing all those Basketball schools, this still may be the best Basketball league in the nation. UConn Pitt Syracuse Louisville and potentially Memphis!!!!! Thats a lethal conference with 5-6 championship contenders a year. This is unlikely to happen anytimein the near future. But honestly thats what I want.
Go get Missouri I think that I would like to give Big East expansion a shot. Hell we'll even extend an invite to Penn State.

If no Big East teams leave, and why would they, stay as is and require ND to play at least 4 BE teams per year, or find a new league for the other sports.
If you want to add and have a league championship game and all, I think Navy would be a definite, probably ECU and or Memphis, and either Temple, Nova, or Buffalo. Of course offer PSU and BC a chance to join a conference that wouldn't treat them like a red-headed step-child, but State would have to find another league for their basketball team. We can't lower our standards that much. As far as academics, when the chemistry department starts bringing in as much revenue as the football team, we'll start caring.

How does the B10 treat Penn State poorly? Why is there instant replay in college football? Why is there ANY discussion of expansion?

Pitt's ideal expansion is actually
Pitt
Portage
Blacklick Valley
Penn Cambria
Bishop Mccort
Forest Hills
Bishop Carroll
Bedford
Central Cambria
Chestnut Ridge
Tussey Mountain
Cambria Heights
Why?
- Pitt would be guaranteed to make it to a BCS game 8 out of 10 years.
- The conference would be strong as Mccort may go 11-1 depending on if they beat Forest Hills or not
- Sagarin would say 3rd best conference in America

Kirk wins.
And to steal the Pitt fans' comeback: PSU would schedule half those teams for OOC opponents.

And I knew a Pitt fan would respond with that. Too predictable.

Portage would never agree to this, as long as McCort has the 'recruiting' advantage.
