Bang up job by the "computers" this bowl season....

LSU #9 - PSU #18 - WRONG
Oregon #6 - Ohio State #12 - WRONG
Miami #13 - Wisconsin #26 - WRONG
WVU #14 - Florida State unranked - WRONG
Cincinnati #2 - Florida #4 - WRONG
Georgia Tech #8 - Iowa #10 - WRONG
TCU #5 - Boise State #6 - WRONG

IF Texas beats Alabama that will be over 50% of the top 25 the the computers incorrectly ranked. I so wish that Cincinnati had played either Florida, Alabama, or Texas for the national championship. A blowout like the one Florida laid on them would have quickened the demise of the BCS, and hopefully brought us closer to a playoff, or even a national championship based upon a modified Coaches Poll.

ONE GAME doesn't make a ranking for the year for ANY team. And of course, let's make the coaches decide on the national championship. No bias there.

Were the computers correct in voting Cincinnati the #2 team in the nation, and as such, did they deserve to play Alabama over Texas for the national title?

Was Oregon a full six places better than Ohio State?

Was LSU a full nine places better than Penn State?

Was Miami a full 13 places better than Wisconsin?

Iowa DOMINATED Georgia Tech tonight. Should they have been within two places of each other in any poll?

Do away with pre-season polls, have the first coaches poll come out in week #5 or so, and finish the season with a playoff that works within the bowl system. What's wrong with that?

Did anyone else take note of the media timeline for Penn State and LSU?

1. Bowl matchups announced, PSU and LSU heralded as the best bowl matchup.

2. "Very close call, I'll take LSU."

3. "I dunno, LSU should win by 10."

4. "LSU is going to beat PSU by 20."

5. Mark May: "Penn State will not even score on LSU" And general "complete blowout" discussion by everyone else.

6. Penn State wins after blowing a big lead in the best drive of any of the senior's college careers.

How exactly does a team gain or lose ground by the media over the course of the bowl preparation, when neither team plays a game?
