WE ARE...MEDIOCRE!

Post by WPIAL~Titan »

Click the link to check out all of the mediocre current NFL talent produced by all of the great 4 stars that attended PSU...The best former Nitter in the NFL may be kicker Robbie Gould, now THAT is funny.

While you're at it, scroll down and check out the Pitt talent currently playing in the NFL...Seriously, now NitWits, PSU isn't even on the same planet as the Pitt talent in the NFL...Don't forget Flacco played for Pitt as well...

Let's hear the spin, boys!

You better hurry up and call the early enrollees, because they start classes in a few hours.

Does Pitt have any early enrollees, or is the staff crossing their fingers that at least 50% of them will graduate from high school?

Not even counting OSU (37), Iowa (28), and PSU (27), let's match the vaunted BE versus the B10.

Louisville (26) - Michigan (33)
Pittsburgh (21) - Purdue (26)
Rutgers (20) - Michigan State (24)
Syracuse (14) - Wisconsin (21)
Cincinnati (13) - Illinois (21)
West Virginia (11) - Minnesota (12)
UCONN (9) - Northwestern (12)
South Florida (6) - Indiana (9)

That's even allowing the silliness that Ryan Mundy played 3 seasons at Michigan and 1 as a grad student at WVU. He's counted for WVU.

EVEN WITHOUT THE TOP 3... the B10 has more people making a living as a football player in the NFL by a score of 158 to 120. I wonder if NFL scouts think the level of competition is tougher in the Big Ten? Makes you wonder.

Weak argument, TAE...The Big preTENd has 3 more teams than the BE, as well as established programs (ie-USF and UCONN just became D1-A in the last decade or so) so I would guess that the vaunted B11 would have morte NFL players ...Nice try though.

My point was to take a look at the Pitt players in the NFL, and then take a look at the PSU players...There is no comparision. Even the most blind PSU fan has to question this. The answer is that PSU does a horrible job developing the great 4 and 5 star talent they get out of HS. If you had a son who was a major D1 offensive talent, would you want JAYPA developing him as an offensive player? Answer yes, and I'll call you a liar.

NFL for a PSU player stands for "Not For Long"...

With that said, while Pitt had some real stud players, they never had any excellent teams over the past decade or so, because they have had zero quality depth. I see this beginning to change over the past few seasons.

Maybe Penn State should drop the football program and better yet desolve the University. According to your logic its an evil establishment which only poor academic and athletic talent evolves. Who ya goin to be haten on then WPInheAdL? Your life will have no meaning once Penn State fades away............

Outside of McCoy, Fitzgerald and Revis, who do you think are so outstanding above the PSU talent in the NFL?

Sure, Penn State doesn't have any flashy offensive guys like McCoy or Fitz, but you can't deny they don't have any great pro's.

McKenzie and Brown have been staples on their respective O-lines. Posluszny was a beast for a terrible Bills squad this year. Anthony Adams and Jay Alford(superbowl ring, 2 sacks in superbowl) are beasts on the D-line.

I guess you missed where he said he left out the top 3 programs in the Big 10?

I think the argument is valid that Pitt has better pros right now than PSU. Remember, PSU was not very good for the first half of the decade. That probably impacts on their pros. Plus, players like Larry Johnson and Kerry Collins would have been considered great a few years ago. This kind of thing changes rapidly. The careers for pros are not very long.
