Pitt/UCONN

Post by WPIAL~Titan »

I thank GOD every day that PItt dropped PSU from their basketball schedule and picked up LaRoche instead. That will immediately improve Pitt's RPI.

PItt loses 3 key players, is expected to stink and now owns road wins over Cuse, Cincy, and now UCONN...Two words: Jamie Dixon.

BTW, I HATE Jim Calhoun...One of most arrogant college coaches in the nation...He's an entitled, nasal toned braggart...VERY average against Pitt lately...

Pitt's RPI has to be top 5 now...

Are you kidding me?

Led the game with 10:00 left vs. Texas.

How'd PSU do against UNC-Behrend?

...and lost by 16. I'm just giving Titan a rough time. Pitt has definitely improved since that game and they weren't even bad at that time. In case everyone forgot, go back and read the thread I made after watching the game. I was surprised how quickly Pitt was starting to rebuild after everything they had lost.

Jamie Dixon is possibly the best coach in the nation. He is an average recruiter, but he has built a great program. I love watching Pitt basketball and have for the past few years. I am a Buckeye fan, but I get frustrated with Matta struggling to make the tournament with great recruits while Dixon takes quality guys and turns them into great players.

Dixon is awesome. Not sure that I'd say he is an average recruiter. It has actually benefitted Pitt not getting many one-and-done 5-star guys. Get guys in the system, coach them up, hopefully they buy-in and mature a little, and that's how you build a program. Plus, doesn't he have 3 former recruits in the NBA, not too shabby. Especially considering western PA puts out maybe 1 D-1 player per year.
