Re: LHAC picture
I agree w/ ya Titan these last couple weeks we will see who is the best some great games coming up for LH's. H-burg and J-town r really good teams for around here (think Portage in football) You just never know when the state playoffs come around (Bedford in football). I do think H-burg is a better team then J-town, Hburg plays vs some good competition were jtown's schedule really don't help and prepare them for what their going to see in the states. Out of the other 4 teams I really think CC is the better team. CH and FH when facing 500 and above teams really haven't performed well. Vescovi and Gallaher r going to get their pts its really about the rest of the team. I really don't know how BM is. I see CC vs J-town and I don't know if anyone remembers I really don't know the year but I think the game finished 20-16 w/ Jtown winning. I see the same thing happening Traino will hold the ball as long as he can trying to keep it away from Jtowns more athletic team.

If you are comparing H-Burg and J-town there is none when we are talking about who is the better team. I would say their talent level is probably the same, I would even say J-Town has more talent all around.
Let's compare like teams played. J-Town beat Westmont by 5 I think. H-Burg beat Westmont by 30+. H-Burg beat Altoona by 13. J-town lost to Altoona by 4. H-Burg beat CC by 17; J-town has yet to play them.
Now being that the two team doesn’t play each other if you look how they stack up against common opponents. There really is no comparison. H-Burg a very talented, and good team. J-Town just very talented. If J-Town played H-Burg schedule they may only have 2 or 3 wins. It doesn't bring me joy to down talk the LHAC but as a man I just have to be honest.

I have said that about the schedule and jtown not playing as a team is a given in any sport I really don't think I have to write that anymore.

Section 1 seems to be getting tighter. Cambria Heights is on a run and seems to be hot. The win against CC tonight brings things a lot closer between Forest Hills, CC, and CH. Things might get interesting if the Heights come through Friday against the Rangers.
Re: LHAC picture
CC vs CH game was terrible. Vescovi is a great all around player I think he scored 95% of the pts for CH had about 15 blocks 10 against #52 from CC alone. CC's 2 big men couldn't make a shot terrible shooting night for CC. I can't take anything away from Vescovi really good player he gets a lot of calls his way. CC couldn't play any worse a loss is a loss. LH's is just really avg this year.
Re: LHAC picture
Also, can we please end the myth that Brian Holsinger is 6-10? Anyone could plainly see tonight that he's the same height as Vescovi, maybe even a tick shorter, 6-8 tops.kmr wrote:Vescovi is a great all around player I think he scored 95% of the pts for CH had about 15 blocks 10 against #52 from CC alone. Titan, it's no secret the LHAC is down this year.. I stated this a few times in football season and no one wanted to accept the facts because BM and FH were running through the competition. Compared to past years, those were very AVERAGE BM and FH teams respectively that absolutely dominated the rest of the LHAC. Richland had far less talent from the year before and ends up doing much better. As for basketball.. the LHAC lost just as much from last season..
Re: LHAC picture
I totally agree with the LHAC being down compared to previous years. I think the problem with most teams in the LHAC this season is the supporting cast around their best players. Last year Mccort, CC, CH had not just one big time player, but several. If the rest of the team was having an off night at least one player was able to elevate their game to lead them to victory. Last night would be a good example, CC's big two in Handlon and Holsinger only combined for just 21 points. Vescovi was able to put in 24 and get a little more help from his guys and that was the difference in the game.

You're right that Hollidaysburg is the much better team, but they are also more talented. Swauger did not even play when they pounded Westmont. The Golden Tigers need not be concerned or compared with Jtown though, they are AAAA and will have to defeat State College again to win the district.LHAC Titan wrote:If you are comparing H-Burg and J-town there is none when we are talking about who is the better team.
