Penna Jr. new JHS head coach

Post by sportsfan1000 »

The administration there just doesnt have a clue.

How about thinking outside of the box and trying to bring in someone new instead of the same old crap.

I think Penna will be fine at JHS. He was under Arcurio who had winning seasons. He was under Marabito who had winning seasons...why would you think outside the box when these guys had winning seasons and he knows the systems? Bring in new blood--talking to a few people who have worked at JHS as coaches, it takes a special person to coach there. The kids have to respect you and believe in you. The paper states that the kids do this with Penna! He is willing to go above and beyond with his players.

It does take a special person to work there. One who has thick skin and is able to endure the constant badgering of micromanaging school board members. For as big as Johnstwon thinks it is, it is more small town than most single A schools.

Good Luck Tony!!!!!

He was part of a staff and O coordinator that had 6 years of D1 running backs and won one district title in maybe the weakest AAA district in the state. I think that sums it all up.

The question you have to ask is what kind of job Johnstown offered him. He is leaving to be a football coach but Ferndale hired him as an athletic director and I’m sure that will no longer be his job. So what job did Johnstown give him that will take away from a possible applicant with an actual college degree to teach? I know Pena does not have a degree to teach so I’m curious to see what job Johnstown gave him.
I think this needs to be looked into. I know several teachers who have applied for teaching positions but not hired, but they have other positions open in the school that could be offered to them but is not because you have these coaches taking up jobs that could go to teachers.

SOMEONE HAS TO LOOK INTO THIS, YOU JUST CAN’T KEEP GIVING OUT SCHOOL JOBS JUST BECAUSE YOU WANT TO HIRE SOMEONE AS A COACH!
