First things first, Billy Hipp is for real, he'll play JV getting some varsity time next year(a long 6'2"). As far as Omos 8th there ok, very scrappy, well coached, on the small side, but not loaded by any means. A few notes regarding there games in the Patcher Tourament, vs. Forest Hills, FH tried to beat them up and got in foul trouble with in minutes, down double digits, FH battled back to make things interesting despite foul trouble. Stat Line of game(from BM person) Omos fta 47 - FH fta 3, wow! FH only won 5 conference games beating BC twice.
Vs. Richland, a couples of things happen here, the rams didn't look very motivated, and very questionable coaching decisions. He actually played a box 1 and 23 zone letting omos small guards off the hook. I think the young rams were looking ahead for there 4 match up the McCort Freshman, before you know it they had a game on there hands, if they play a 100 times Richland wins 99, that was Omos 1 shot. Rams only conference losses are to BM.
Vs. Johnstown, who only has 3 conference wins, Trojans win tight game. I think Omos was up 7 going into 4th quarter, but went cold.
All in all, great effort from Omos, with the Richland game being most impressive.
Comparing McCort freshman to last years Trojans is interesting, a few thoughts, BM may be able to play with them because of match ups, styles and coaching. They shot it and rebounded better than than last years freshman who caused a few scare's for the mighty Trojans. Bottomline Watson, Hasselrig, and Williams along with Qual Wilson & Christian Leech will be better highschool players than any of the McCort freshman. If they played 4 times like last year, i'd said 2-2 spilt or 3-1 for the Trojans.

I can't believe we are talking about the 8th grade basketball. What's next??? Should I start a thread about the Windber, err I mean East Hills League? In that case, there is nobody quite as good as the Westmont 5th graders! Oh wait, are they going to go to OMOS too?
