Unlike the State College police, who are used to investigating arrows being shot into apartment walls and cell phone hi-jinx, I'm sure the Pittsburgh police and the county prosecutor know what they are doing. Maybe all you Columbos out there can take over for them.

and the NCAA, IRS, or FBI?

People are randomly targeted for audits. Here is perhaps a public case of income derived from sources of illegal sources.

My question is, if this Pitt football player had perhaps tens of thousands of dollars of money laying around his dorm room, how many other Pitt football players had first hand knowledge of this? It is completely reasonable to assume that at some point in time Mr. Fields had a fellow player(s) in his room who might have seen this questionable behavior.

I hope that the University of Pittsburgh has referred this case to the appropriate authorities for investigation and perhaps prosecution.

Listen Columbo. Things will take care of themselves. Why don't you notify the authorities? After all, YOU now have witnessed the situation. Are you now an accessory, like leaving the scene of an accident. It may be up to you to "refer the case to appropiate authorities for investigation and perhaps prosecution".

No, I have not witnessed the alleged crime first hand. Notice in all of my comments I have used words like "if" and "alleged", which is far far more than any of you Pitt homers have EVER used with anything relating to Penn State players. Anytime there is even a loose mention of any wrong doing by a Penn State player the Pittsburgh Post Gazette and all of the Pitt boards erupt in glee, and immediately call for the death penalty.

Again, if these pictures are in fact real, I find it incredibly hard to believe that other Pitt players did not know about this possible criminal behavior. I would hope that at a very minimum that the University of Pittsburgh would conduct some sort of investigation. Mr. Fields has only been dismissed from the team, yet there has been nothing else said from the University. Is this a cover up? What did Pitt know, and when did they know it?

So Moldo calls you Columbo for saying something that is totally in-line, but as soon as a Penn State player even gets close to trouble, the Pitt fans on this board (and I'm sure elsewhere) call for immediate dismissal and arrests and even the death penalty.

FYI, frostlion isn't bashing Wanny or anything that has to do with the football program by alleging that the entire program is corrupt and dirty and should be disbanded. Hint Hint.

Did the State College police and the university try to find out where Bowmann got his marijuana? Couldn't it have led to his supplier, and prevented others from falling under the spell of mary jane??? I am calling frosty Columbo BECAUSE he is trying to play detective, not for any other reason. And the word "if" is the biggest word in the English language. Now where is WPIAL-TITAN's list of Penn state criminals. There are NO "ifs" in that list. There were no thoeries on that list. Those players were all accused and found guilty of their crimes. No speculation there. Guilty as charged.

I'm pretty sure State College police has bigger concerns than questioning someone who ADMITTED TO SMOKING WEED. No ifs on that list???? No theories on that list??? Accused and found guilty??? You really are stretching here. That list includes numerous cases with dropped charges, a mascot DUI, Paterno telling a women she can't drive, and like 50 speeding tickets. Go look up PSU woman's field hockey strength of schedule and give us a report on that.

Nice pics of all that dough on Scoot's Twitter site. Send those to CalU or IUP, I'm sure they'll care.

PROVE those pics were of Scoot's drug money. Prove that money had anything to do with anything illegal that Scoot did or any NCAA violations by Pitt. Go ahead, prove those pics weren't forwarded to him by some thug he hangs out with. Prove that he even posted those pics to his twitter page if someone else had the password...Heck, prove that Navorro Bowman or Yacov Israel didn't send those pics to him. The pics were in poor taste, and Fields SHOULD be gone. Those pics are more representative of the character of the PSU football athletes.

Here's the BOTTOM LINE: Elijah Fields is GONE. Dismissed from the University of Pittsburgh football team. Finished. Done. Finito. Sayonara.

Believe this though: If Elijah was at PSU, those pics of ca$h-money would be enough to make him TEAM CAPTAIN, just like Anthony Sciorotto was named team captain his senior year (see #42 below.)

Go ahead and spin that Coach.
