Is the Big East laying an egg???
Re: Is the Big East laying an egg???
You spin in every direction Moldy...
You don't wanna use the tourny games to say how good a conference is... How do the conference games they play all year determine how good the conference really is? They are all playing each other.
You want to use bowl games to prove how good conferences are...
Experts? Did they watch a game like Cincy vs. Florida?
I will root for the rest of the B10 throughout the tourney by the way.

Re: Is the Big East laying an egg???
So whoever wins the tournament this year comes from the best conference?
Since Cornell is alive then the Ivy League is one of the best conferences?
And I guess Kansas really wasnt that good this year since they lost?
I just am a little baffled with this thinking that since a few teams from a conference get knocked out early, everyone assumes that the conference is weak. Everyone forgets that Wisconsin beat Duke in the regular season, but no one said the big 11 is better than the ACC.

I don't know if you're drunk or unintelligent. You know you spelled "stocker" wrong on your signature though right, dummy? KirkHerbstreit

Re: Is the Big East laying an egg???
The experts DO watch games. In the final 2009 AP college football pool, Cincinnati was ranked ABOVE Penn State. So what does that say about PSU??? Are YOU going to agree with THAT??? NCAA Tournament games, like college bowl games, ARE JUST GAMES!!!! They do not spell out that one conference is better than another. Does the ACC/Big Ten Challenge in December PROVE anything??? At least something like this is a better indicator than "a game here and there during a tournament".

Re: Is the Big East laying an egg???
Isn't the games "here and there in the tournament" the games that every team focuses all year on? I don't know many teams that get knocked out of the tourney early and say that they are just games. They should definitely hold more weight than games in the regular season.

Re: Is the Big East laying an egg???
Looks to me like the real "experts" the Coaches, had Penn State 8, Cincinnati 9.

Re: Is the Big East laying an egg???
What do coaches know about all the D-I teams in America? They concentrate on the 12 teams they play during the season, and not the rest of them unless they've seen them on game films. The sportswriters are more than likely able to follow ALL the teams and conferences.

Re: Is the Big East laying an egg???
AP Poll=Not part of the BCS equation
Coaches Poll= Part of the BCS equation
According to the BCS, not you, the Coaches Poll means more.

Re: Is the Big East laying an egg???
What makes a sportswriter who went to college to learn how to write about sports knowledgeable? How many of those guys reallly know their sports?
I'd take John Hayes opinion on something football over anything that Neil Rudel says.

Well let's see know. coach does NOT like the sagarin rankings, and he doesn't like the AP poll. Guess he only likes the polls that rate PSU and the Big Ten higher than any others.

Re: Is the Big East laying an egg???
I'm just saying.. I don't know if any poll is legit.
Look at bball. All year long it changes. If football lasted 6 months you would have a different top 10 all year long. Look at Cincy, people thought they should have maybe had a shot at the title. Florida sent them back to reality in a hurry!
Anyway, no matter what anyone says they can't win with you. Sagarin's ratings are TERRIBLE. It was plain as day for the whole world to see that Big East football really isn't good. They had teams that appeared to be good because of how awful the conference truly was. Being the best in the BE was like being the best looking bridesmaid if one of the cast members of The View were to get married. Ok...I know, terrible attempt at humor. I'm nowhere near as good as TAE.
Now...to the original question...
Yes, the Big East laid a huge egg. Kansas did too.
FYI, the rankings I like best are honestly the BCS because they average so much stuff together to make it. I do like the AP poll, I like the coaches poll as well. It at least gives you an idea as to how these teams compare to one another.
