He Who Hesitates Is Lost
In a press release today, Iowa Athletic Director Gary Barta announced the hiring of Fran McCafferty of Siena to replace fired Todd Lickliter. The Hawkeyes were 10-22 this past season and haven't made the NCAA Tournament since 2006. Lickliter had a record of 38-58 at Iowa. Barta cited a slumping record, lagging attendance, and dwindling revenue from ticket sales and contributions as reasons for replacing Lickliter. Gee, that's only a 4 year abscence from the Big Dance, and 10 more wins instead of losses would have given Lickliter a .500 record. Guess some schools are SERIOUS about their basketball program.

Must be nice to have an AD who cares. I can name 3 guys that would do wonders at Penn State as a HC. Too bad no one else cares.
