The impressive thing about Crimson's list is that all those athletes were major contributors to those schools teams and some in multiple sports. With Hornets list, I chuckle every time I see it because the great majority on the list didn't participate in sports (at least I didn't hear of many). Also, some of those kids didn't even transfer. An example would be Matt McMillen.

Ryan Fisher to Somerset after freshman year.

El-Moldo, you're right. Wadley played basketball his junior year, but not his senior year.

So is that all you've got in basketball? Dill? Wadley his junior year?

Come on let's keep these names coming so we can dispell this myth and let everyone see what the truth really is. Seems that there are a lot more legitimate transfer out of McCort than into.

Crossover don't muddy the waters here .I believe we all can agree that the evidence that privates are always in more than there share of state title games is overwhelming! Whether you or any one else want to admit it the proof is there. The list hornet posted is from 1983 to now and privates have won 68 of 112 titles in small school.Thats all the proof I need.Separate the privates.

Out of? Out of? Out of where? You have to have borders in order to transfer "out of" somewhere. This whole line of (non) reasoning implies there's a geographic Bishop McCort School District.

Alright, I'll agree with you; McCort has no boundries. But now go back to prince's statement that your major problem with McCort is all the transfers they get. I'm just trying to get you guys to name all these transfers into McCort, that you supposedly say they get. That's all.

USATF, I understand where you are coming from in reference to the smaller schools being at a disadvantage. They are normally small communities that definitely are limited in respect to the pool of players they can draw from. I can even agree with you to have a separate playoff system, if they also have one final championship game between the parochial champions and the public champions. If not, and only a separate playoff system, then I believe that anyone who sends their children to private schools should not have to pay school taxes.

Once again, I'm not trying to be right or wrong, I'm just trying to get the names of all these basketball tranfers.

Let's switch schools and discuss what bishop Carroll did to Blacklick Valley.
Justin Schilling - left midway thru soph yr
Chad Schilling
Ryan Byich
Corey Byich
Todd Koenig
Brendan Julock - returned senior year
Nate Gerber
Steve Green

These 8 players along with what blacklick had would have made them
pretty doggone successful. 0, none, donut, went to parochial school. Koenig
left BV after sixth grade. Nanty Glo kids put Carroll on the map.

I cannot understand why Blacklick would be upset!!!

Westmont has benefitted unbelievably over the years from Catholic kids who went to Catholic grade schools but transferred to Westmont for high school. Their good boys basketball and football teams were built on OMOS kids. That team with Balog, Stevenson and Adam Watson was terrific. Their girls state basketball teams don't get to states and are just another good AA team without Urban, Buchan, Battaglia and Lintner who all attended Catholic grade school but transferred to Westmont for high school. That team was probably one of top teams in PA in any class.

So it appears to have worked both ways over the years. Gets you wondering what could be done if some schools consolidated.

so in other words they went to the school district that their family resided in and payed taxes to which happened to be richland or westmont etc. sounds like these students didn't have a choice to go to forest hills, tyrone, bellwood, or some other school.

maybe if i have time i'll make a list of all the boys bg, bc, transfers that i can find on the meeting minutes and do the same with the girls sports for all three bishops.

i think you'll find if you add up the enrollment areas of the private schools to include all of the students from a school, the same way as a co-op works, and play by classification that way all the complaining will go away.

if a school like bc only has kids from central cambria and blacklick valley, add the boys up from the grades in these schools to come up with a total number of students the same as a coop works and play in that class. if a kid comes from portage, add their enrollment number and see if it bumps it up a class or not.
