Will someone PLEASE Take our Scholarships????

Post by WPIAL~Titan »

AVAILABLE IMMEDIATELY: The Pennsylvania State University, a college of nearly 25,000 undergraduate students whose mission is to achieve mediocrity in a mundane, yet ethnically and racially non-diverse environment. One full tuition, room, and board scholarship, renewable yearly for up to 5 academic years. Wide variety of challenging academic majors are available which are feature rigor and state-of-the-art training in disciplines such as: Hospitality Sciences (working in a hotel, pehaps even for environmental services, being a shift manager at Sheetz, or working the waffle cones at The Creamery), Golf Course Management (Creative Grass Cutting 101), Kinesiology (How to be a personal trainer), Crime, Law, and Justice (Navorro Bowman was valedictorian of this department last academic term), and Division of General Studies.

GED required (see Gus Felder), and partial and non-qualifiers under NCAA clearninghouse regs accepted (see Felder, Wedderburn, et al). Character issues? No problem (see University Park and Centre County DA blotters).

Recruits who are considering Bucknell encouraged to apply.

Home visit may be conducted by the head coach, provided that a handrail is available near the toilet and that home is handicapped accessible.

Player should be versed and willing to participate in The Grand Experiment.

Interested parties should contact: Joesph V. Paterno, Head Football Coach, THE Pennsylvania State University, 123 Cow Chip Lane, Fantasy Valley, PA 16666

You are so out of touch with reality it is unreal. Pitt offers General Studies.

http://www.cgspitt.org/

You do realize that there are thousands of good jobs in turf management? These jobs can be well into 6 digits.

How many hotels are across the country? My 7 year old cousin is intelligent enough to realize that there are more jobs there than working the front desk and cleaning rooms. The corporations have upper level management!

I know your have lived a life full of hate towards Penn State because they wouldn't accept your learning the alphabet, tying your shoes, and blowing your own nose credits from MHMR but you need to move on with your life.

I didn't read the article from Zeise, a longtime Pitt apologist, but didn't he talk about how this Pitt class failed to address team needs and took way too much low-hanging fruit?

Speaking of "please someone take our scholarships", I see that Pitt had 24 commitments in the 2010 class. Only 4 of them were 4* players. Penn State's 2010 class of 19...

...had 12 4* players.

NitWits are in the lead or in excellent shape with...

4* Darius Jennings (top 10)
4* Donovan Smith (leader)
4* Miles Shuler (at least top 10, might be top 5)
4* Savon Huggins (top 5)
4* Allan Wasonga (leader)
4* Deion Barnes (leader)
4* Tre Mason (leader)
4* Quinta Funderburk (top 5)
4* Anthony Zettel (top 2)
4* Ishaq Williams (top 5)
4* Doran Grant (top 10)
3* Zach West (top 5)
3* Dominique Noble (top 2)
3* Andre Sturdivant (top 2)
3* Connor Crowell (top 3)
3* Brandon Reddish (leader)
3* Darian Cooper (top 8)

As badly as PSU started this arms race in 2011, looks to me as if PSU's class is on pace to beat Pitt's yet again. We already have 1 4*, we only need 3 more. And that's with 3-4 less scholarships available.

Maybe we oughta tap the brakes before we start beating our chest about Pitt's recruiting prowess after all. It's like High Chief Pitter Moldo always says... ITS NOT HOW YOU START, ITS HOW YOU FINISH.

5 and a half months to go and Pitt is claiming a massive recruiting victory over Penn State. Hmm.

Shocker,

I was posting that to downgrade Pitt academics. In fact, I really like Pitt academics. The point I was making is many major universities offer General Studies. Never once have I bashed the Pitt academic system. They may make exceptions for athletes a little more than I think they should but they are a solid academic institute.

I think Penn State may have been taking a different tactic at recruiting this year. It seemed to me that Penn State may have chased kids too hard in the early recruiting season only to have other schools join the parade later in the process and steal them away. This is why people want to go last in a debate because people remember more of the last speaker. I'm not saying it won't work but lets see how this turns out.
