Re: Scrimmage results
Not sure where you obtained your info concerning the Richland scrimmage this past Saturday but, what you were told was not very accurate. Richland did not look very good, especially against P.C. Mainly because of youth and a lack of experience. Some day they will be a pretty good squad but not anytime soon. They averaged only about 3 yards/carry and completed only 1 pass out of 7 or 8 against P.C. They had a very difficult time stopping P.C.'s running game. Rizzo definitely "looked" good. However, he was very hesitant running the ball (not very successful). He didn't stand out at all on defense. If you don't believe me, ask someone who was actually there. Don't believe everything you hear. They will be lucky to win 5 games.

Rizzo is big, never thought he was a great football player.

Call me crazy but will a future college try to make him into a guard? or stick to fullback cause hes got pretty good speed for size?

Back to scrimmages. I think I'll make the trip to Everett tonight to see this highly touted Berlin outfit and Everett scrimmage. Everett, based on the size of their line and a returning QB should be in the hunt for the ICC divisional crown.

Yeah I'm interested in seeing how Everett is too. I know they lost a lot, but they have a ton of big boys on their team. From what I heard though from last week's scrimmage, Meyersdale smacked them around. If that's the case, it could be a long season for the Warriors.Sideling Hill Fan wrote:Back to scrimmages. The ICC South should be completely wide open. NBC, Everett, Mt Union and Southern Huntingdon should all contend.
Mount Union lost a lot of skill players from the past two years 7-4 teams. Their offensive line should be a strong point, as they have a few kids coming back who were starters on last year's line. They return House at FB and Bingaman and Grove who got some carries last year out of the WB spots. Lear had some pretty good numbers every time I looked at the JV results from last season. He's listed as a RB on Max Preps, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's not at WR this year, because he seemed to catch a TD pass in about every JV game last season.
Where we will really hurt at is on defense. We lost a lot of skilled starters throughout that lineup. Not sure what we'll have coming up from the JH team, but I hope we continue to have success, because we've been down for so long and repeated success will help get the kids out there on the field.

Bishop Carroll and Bedford: BC had a slight edge over bedford. BC had some big plays and moved the ball pretty consistently, Bedford did the same minus the big plays. Both teams turned the ball over a few times which will become an issue if it continues. BC scored twice and returned an interception to the Bison's ten and which would probably had been a 3rd score, and Bedford scored on the BC starters once
