Post by old school »

For the first time ever under JoePA PSU will be starting a true freshman, Robert Bolden, on the opening day.

Better then a walk on I guess?

He seems to fit the Penn State mold..... athletic and eventually could be a good player, bad thing is.......101,000 wearing Crimson and White week 2. Don't expect a whole lot from him then.

Put Big Red in pads down at Bama...

Can't wait to see what that QB guru JAYPA does with this frosh...

Remember Zack Mills? Good frosh season, but as bad as bad could be afterwards, big time regression

Darryl Clark? Had a good year last season, but if you look at him more closely, he played disgracefully against real teams. Should've been a WR or RB...

Ants Morelli? Horrific...One of the worst ever. Couldn't throw it in the ocean. My personal fave was him playing against tOSU and throwing outside hitch patterns halfway up the student section...His QB rating had to be Blutarsky-esque vs. decent teams ie-zero. point. zero.

PSU ain't exactly Quarterback U...It's more like where QBs go to have their careers die. How does that reflect on the Boy Wonder/Child Prodigy?

According to Nittanywhiteout.com, they're already considering this season a baptism under fire for the frosh, hoping it pays dividends in 2012, 2013, and 2014.

The general consenus is that 2011 should be a great year. Who knows. With the defense THIS year, I dont see why ppl are writing 2010 off. 10+ wins is achievable.

Titan, the only guy on that list who was bad was Morelli. Mills was injured and never healed. Morelli IS playing pro ball in the UFL, which is more than Clark is doing, last I heard. Where's Palko?

The Alabama game, at the end of the day, is nothing but a measuring stick. Its not a conference game, and I expect the team to be in B10 contention. They are not playing for a national title this year, but they can win the B10. All they need to do is have a respectable showing at Alabama and get some momentum building for the games that ultimately matter. The Pitt - Utah game is also meaningless. Pitt can lose that game by 40 and still win the BE and get a BCS bid. Playing these early "marquee" games is a great recruiting tool / fan tool but its just a measuring stick.
