if the heights D would have made at least ONE stop they would have won...37-34 final.
Vescovi passed like there was no defense at all. Ended the game with 5 tds I believe. The O line looked good too. The heights defense couldn't stop the two plays Bedford had (fullback dive and QB dive option). Shippey had the dagger in the 4th with a big touchdown run converting a 4th and 8.

kmr wrote:BC wins 28-7 over Westmont. Really a bad game to watch and besides BC's first drive they couldn't block and the tackling wasn't much better. Woo under 50yds rushing. At the half Westmont was winning 7-6. BC recieved the 2nd half kickoff a line drive to one of the kids #4 in the 2nd row and he made a great catch and ran it to the Westmont 40 couple runs and 2 passes BC scored 12-7. Couple series for both teams went by and Westmont was 3rd and distance bad snap scramble for the ball and Kephart some how got a safety 14-7. Westmont got the ball back threw a INT BC ran it down to the 1 and punched it in next play. Don't know how they scored the last td. Maybe the time change had to do something w/ it but really bad offensive game. Neither team I don't think had over a 150yds total O. Two things I came away w/ Westmont isn't to bad they just need to open it up. Kephart (2 sacks and a safety) and Chumrick (1 sack multiple pressures) looked really good on D. #51 from BC might be out for the year MCL possible.
Painful, it was. For the second week in a row Westy goes toe to toe and then completely falls apart. The passing game was horrendous. I missed the last touchdown, too - left with two minutes or so to play. There are some really good athletes on this team and they showed sporadic bright spots, but this program needs help. Names heard repeatedly on defense - Popchak, Intihar and Burnheimer - not surprisingly, all wrestlers. Too many false starts and weren't there two or three snaps that went over the head? Agree about opening it up - how many times in a row do you run up the middle of a big Carroll line and get one yard tops before you start taking some chances? This program needs resuscitated, it needs some wins - gamble a little bit.

Nice. Finger pointing already (even though you're not a Vescovi and don't even know them  ). Last I checked, it was a team game. There's no W-L record for offense vs. defense. I saw Shippey playing on both sides of the ball.

BG, it's hard to blame the offense when the qb passed for 400+ yards and 5 td's. That's unheard of! and in loss..

Westmont is better than people give them credit for, their Defensive scheme worked really well against Carroll's offense but couldn't stop the passing game, which Carroll should've done a lot more than they did, aside from a few Westy mistakes this was a really close game, and the last score was off of a failed fourth down attempt from their own 25 and Carroll punched it in without any trouble, Carroll has Forest Hills next week

Please cite the "blame" in my post. Two statements of fact.

The kid had 400 yards and 5 tds and you are trying to say I'm a vescovi. Wow. I assure you I'm not but to make that statement is insane. I'm sure anyone would post that if they knew the stat. It doesn't make me a relative. Shippey did play on both sides of the ball. That is a simple statement that means nothing to a reader? Offense was his strong point in the game and I specifically noted that he had the big run at the finale. It's not finger pointing when the offense puts up 450 yards and the defense gives up just as many yards. It is what it is. What's your problem here?

Berlin 42-0 at Conemaugh Valley at halftime.
It's better to keep your mouth shut and let people think you're stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.
