WESTPAC WEEK 2
Re: WESTPAC WEEK 2
This week will determine a lot for Windber. If they beat Ridge maybe they can make the 8-0 for week 9, but I do not think they are as strong as they were last year and the year before. Those two teams didn't make it 8-0 either. We will see. I see them going in to week 9 either 5-3 or 6-2. No matter what the records will be, the game in week 9 will be a great game to watch with this new rivalry of the past few years.

Re: WESTPAC WEEK 2
I watched the Windber football team vs Blacklick and Windber is physical, not great size but physical. Cover is quick and they run the offense nearly flawlessly. BV has some big physical players and the QB Manda is solid. I think the way to beat Windber is in the air. BV was able to move the ball on short passes and that opened up some deep stuff but Manda was too pressured to make the throw. BV had seven first quarter penalties and a fumble, shot themselves in the foot early. I heard that Windber players were yelling out the cadence, they did receive an unsportsmanlike penalty for that but only after it happened three times.

windber has a better team this year than in the previous two years and they werent yelling out the cadence haha they were calling out stregnth and the old refs they had...lets just say they were hard of hearing...also windber hasnt started out 2-0 in the past two years if they get passed ridge friday night i feel things can be very solid for them..also theres been all this talk about the "rambler D" being back to its old ways...i feel this week will tell that tale....

Pennstater you are seriously on drugs. Windber is no where near last year's squad.

Re: WESTPAC WEEK 2
I will be really surprised if anybody in the WestPAC beats Ridge this year.
I'm not saying it won't happen, just that I have serious doubts that it will.

It's better to keep your mouth shut and let people think you're stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

North Star almost did. They were leading most of the game. Ridge really only has 2 really good players. They have a ton of 1st year starters.

Windber has played nobody! When Ridge puts up 35 on your defense I wanna hear what you have to say.
Re: WESTPAC WEEK 2
BisonLine- I agree with you. They'll be tough, but it is definitely do-able.
Pennstater- It is definitely a fact that Windber is not as good on O this year as they were the past 2. Cover is a decent running back, but it's mostly the offense that does the job. The way they run it, it is easy for a running back to get the yards. They don't have the Erikson, Strapple, Ulasky, Clark skill of past, but their offensive scheme n line will get them where they need to be. As for the D, i think they need to be tested first. Ridge will bring that test. Dude, don't be another mouthy Windber fan or player, who always praises Windber for being the best even on a down year. Just relax. I can see the Windber players being mouthy and getting unsportsman like penalties. That's how it was in 08, but in 04 they were a well respected team. I'd have to see them in person to judge how this team is. We all have our own oppinions. I think bb has a good point.

I agree with QBhank12
Honestly though every team has the opportunity to go undefeated it's a matter of preparation, performance, and a little luck. In my opinion windber is not as strong this year as the past two years, but friday night will definitely show us all if they are strong. Also some schools are known to be respectable and very good sportsman in any sport and sorry to any windber fans but honestly you are not one of those schools.
