Ya you better hope Sunseri doesn't come out Gunning in this second half and Pitt's db's aren't chasing the heals of Miami's WR's.....ohh wait too late.

Although I was disappointed in Pitt's performance tonight, at least they didn't give up late in the game. Down by 21 points inside the Miami 20 yard line with over 8 minutes left, Pitt at least tried to cut the lead to 2 scores by running a play instead of kicking a field goal. When Penn State was in the same situation against Alabama, down by 3 scores with 4th and short at the Alabama 15 yard line with over 9 minutes to play, THEY GAVE UP!!!! Instead of TRYING to cut the lead to 2 scores, PSU SURRENDERED and tried to save face by getting 3 points and AVOIDING a shutout. That, my friends, is the difference in the mindset between Pitt and PSU.

You're right. Baldwin didn't give up on that ball that was intercepted. The defense didn't give up on the ensuing drive that Miami had. As soon as the fumble on the punt return happened everybody gave up. The players. The fans. The coaches. Everybody.

I give up. Hey and so does the Penn state coaching hierarchy. Nice try, ham. But I'm talking about the staff. You know, the one's who control the game. Even TAE knows about PSU giving up on a game. As long as PSU wasn't shut out, that's all that counted vs Alabama. Galen Hall, or whoever is making the game decisions for the Nits, waved the white flag with the game STILL in the balance. Say what you want about fans, players, etc. But it's the coaches who count.

...and PSU should thank God that Alabama gave up too, or it would've been 38-3 or 41-3 instead of 24-3.
Better yet, think back a little further in history and pay homage to USC for giving up too, or that game would've been 62-14.

You're right Moldy. It's the coaches that count. That's why if Nick Saban had St. Francis's squad Alabama would still be undefeated and ranked number 1 in the nation.
I thought Pitt's effort was pathetic last night. Coaching, Players, fans. It was an embarrassing display. Miami could have won that game 52-3. 3 and out on the first 4 series of the game. 2 first downs in the first half. Tino was 2-7 for 1 yard near the end of the first half. That was classic.
If what you say is true about not giving up, why was Pitt with a minute left running the ball inside Miami's 10? Shouldn't they have been throwing it up to baldwin and planning the onside kick?
You Pitter's crack me up. Any time your team has a poor performance there is no accountability. It always comes back to "Ya, But Penn State......."

I'm actually giving Wanny a lot of credit for not scoring a garbage touchdown at the end. A lot of other coaches would have.
As much as this will make jaws drop on this site, if I had an 18 yr old son, I'd happily send him to be under wanny. Dave Wannstadt is a great human being who is not a great gameday coach. That's a shame, bc Pitt could really have good program. But when is the last time they played on national tv and even won?
