Re: WESTPAC WEEK 5
I know that Ferndale v. Blacklick Valley is far off of everyone's radar this week; however, the young girl, Kelsey Miller, that was killed in the car accident in Hollidaysburg on Saturday, was a current student at BV and a former stduent at Ferndale. I know both schools are planning some sort of tribute before the game and at half-time. If you can make it please do; if not keep Kelsey and her family and friends in your prayers. If you're a young adult reading this, please don't drink and drive; or get in a car with someone who's been drinking. Kelsey wasn't drinking at the time of the accident, but the driver was. Parents, hug your kids when they the leave the house, because you just never know. Makes you realize that there are ALOT more important things than high school football.

That is horrible to hear. Thanks for posting this. My thoughts are prayers go out to the Miller family.daisymae67 wrote:I know that Ferndale v. bbsocceralumni, like your picks. You are usually right on. I don't know what to make of windber/portage. Both seem to be having down years. Portage is 4-0 but struggled against bad teams.

I haven't seen Byers play, but I have a hard time believing he is a better offensive player than Sayler. Sayler is on pace to have over 4000 yards rushing for his career.

the difference between Brett and Ian is very simple, Brett is a tackle to tackle runner(a very good one). when Ian has the ball, you just hold your breath, cause he could break one at any time.

The thing that impressed me in the Ridge game was how many yards Ian had after contact. It's hard to believe a 160 lb. guy can run through tackles like that. Too bad that Berlin and CT don't play each other in the regular season so they could settle it on the field, maybe in the playoffs.

i think they will meet in the playoffs. i would like to see both teams lose one in the reg. season so they go into the playoffs knowing they arent invinceable. but i think berlin will be undefeated and this week will decide if c.t. goes undefeated. either way i hope they get to play in the championship game they both have worked hard to get to where they are.superstar25 wrote:The thing that impressed me in the Ridge game was how many yards Ian had after contact. i will be at this one.. it seems like the past 2 years have taken a big toll on our local athletes, either being in in alcohol situations or fast driving. i have prayed for the family since i saw this on my tweet and hope god brings peace to the family, many family members were affected by this, the driver and his family, and the other 2 passengers, and i cant even try to comprehend how this family must feel, i would be devistated if it were my son. remember guys you have your whole life ahead of you, dont give into peer pressure at such a young age.daisymae67 wrote:I know that Ferndale v.
