So I get crusified on here for sayin Lucas is overrated and never really impressed me.. but the Westy offense can't even move the ball or get points on BEDFORD??!!??!! I know there's 10 other people on the field, but if he's preseason all american or whatever from these camps, shouldn't he be able to dominate a terrible Bedford front? Looks like the opposite happened. Once again, nothing against the kid. I kept my mouth shut until after he committed.

You should keep your mouth shut regardless. What can you possibly get out of saying anything negative about an individual kid? Say what you want about coaching, even say what you want about an entire team. But to call out any individual player and say negative things about him on a message board is cowardly and immature.

Good points, SF. Seriously, who is "overrating" him? The combines where he excelled? St. Francis University? He's a big, strong, athletic kid who is moving on to play Division 1 ball. I am happy for the kid and proud of every Johnstown-area kid that goes on to play college ball.

Cowardly? Please. The young man has commited, what's your deal? When you read all offseason about what a powerhouse this kid is, and you can't even run the ball on Bedford, somethings wrong. Like I said, I never once said a word about him whenever he was getting hyped up, even though I had seen numerous game tapes on him and was never impressed. Keep in mind, once again, my career is in college football. If the kid can take the praise and glory all offseason, he better be able to take the criticism when he doesn't live up to it. Grow up, and stop crying about it. I guess when this is the only thing Westmont has to hang their hats on, they'll do that. Maybe it's your coaches fault for not using him correctly if he's as good as people say. But once again, I've never seen it. Division 1 athletes does not equal losing to Bedford.. thats unexcusable.

First of it's not my coach. If you read any of my posts you will see I am a johnstown fan. I have nothing to do with westmont nor do I know anyone that goes there. However, I keep seeing people like you taking pot shots and kids and it makes no sense to me. If someone wants to come on here and "talk someone up" what do you possibly get out of knocking them down a few pegs? Why do you feel like its your job to do that? The kid or any kid that gets called out on here is not in college. It's high school football for christ sakes. If any kid wants to go out and give everything they have for their school why should they be ridiculed for it? Some players are better than others. Everyone knows that. I just don't get the point. Why don't you tell us your real name, what you do for a living, and we can all scrutinze you. It sure is easy taking shots at kids but you would never tell us who you are so we can discuss the things you do. That's where the cowardly part comes into play.

So continue to criticize high school kids and show us how big of a man you are. Hey, I saw a few first graders playing dodgeball the other day outside of a school. I'll give you a list of names and you can start disecting their games.

Stop being a baby. If you honestly consider calling a kid overrated "taking shots at a kid" or "ridiculing" him then somethings wrong with you buddy. Wake up, it's a cometitive world out there. You can't hide your 18 year old son from all he bad people in this world. Hell, maybe you are Lucas' dad the way you are crying about this. Criticism sometimes does a lot more to help athletes than praise does, remember that. I am not the problem, people like YOU who try to shield these young men from everyday life and sugarcoat everything like the world is full of gumdrops are rainbows ARE my friend. Anything I've said should do nothing but motivate the kid, I doubt he's sitting somewhere whining about it like you are. Get real, and stop trying to make highschool football like little league baseball. The reality is: These kids work day in and day out all year for this, take it seriously, and do everything they can to win. It's a serious sport, not little league buddy. It should be noted I never said the kid was a bad football player, didn't deserve a scholarship, etc. I simply said he was overrated based on what we consistent posters have read all offseason. All you have to do is click on my name and look at all my posts and you will see that I am not this kids dad. Secondly, you answered none of my questions so I'll take that as a sign you have no answers. Again, you are the coward, you wouldnt tell us who you are so we can discuss your abilities. I didn't take shots at a kid like you are saying or degrade a kid no matter how much you make it out to be. I simply said he was overrated from the offseason press labeling him a big time college prospect. Interpretate that how you will, I don't really care if you cry about it or not.

I will just say this and it isn't a slur to anyone. But a true Division I kid in our area should DOMINATE at his position, and his team should be able utilize him to help win games.
