Better question would be how Tyrone would far against WPIAL Aliquppa, Beaver Falls, and GCC. My guess is pretty darn well. As far as AAAA WPIAL, it may be the most overrated league in the state. State College made Woodland Hills look bad last year in State semis and I think most of the time Philly Catholic league teams are going to dominate AAAA championships in the future

I watched the quips /Beaver Falls on tv a couple weeks ago and was shocked. Most years we probably don't match up with either team, but would probably stay close due to coaching and team ball. But that game was poor football. Don't get me wrong, they both have a couple great athletes; but the quips had 16 penalties before the 4th quarter. Then they faked a punt from their own 38 in the 4th qtr on a 4th and 29 with a 13 pt lead!! wow. I hope GCC and Beaver Area are better, because if they aren't, the mighty WPIAL champ will get whitewashed the 1st game after Heinz Field. IMO, Forest Hills, Central, Tyrone, and maybe H-don are all better than the 2 teams on tv last Thursday.

Fact is State College manhandled Woodland Hills last year. My primary response was to posters trying to compare AA Tyrone to AAAA teams in WPIAL. Unfair comparison. My point is Tyrone, and Forest Hills would be very capable of winning WPIAL this year in AA. AAAA WPIAL champion will lose to Philly Catholic league champion 7 our of 10 years. Just how it is. On an overall basis, WPIAL is deeper than D6 by a wide margin. Top teams from D6 AA could compete as well as D6 A. D6 AAA and D6 AAAA are a different story for this year. Although, Hollisdayburg is doing well in WPIAL this year.
