ICC Week 6 Preview
ICC Week 6 Preview
4-2 last week, 25-5 overall Everett and TM winning were my wrong picks last week. The Mo Valley vs. TM score at the half was close to my prediction for the game :!: There are some really good games this week. Even the matchups between teams that are not doing well are going to be tough to pick.
Mount Union @ Williamsburg
This is a tale of two teams who are really struggling this year. I think some people expected Williamsburg to maybe win 2 or 3 games this year, and they may not reach that total. The Trojans were a big question mark, and with some of the injuries they have dealt with it hasn't been pretty to this point. Will House be back any time soon? This will be a good game. It may be sloppy and between two teams that don't have good records, but this game should remain close.

Southern Huntingdon @ Everett
Everett got shut out by West Branch last week. I'm not sure if they'll have any confidence at all. They have 22 points on the year and have been shut out 3 times. Southern Huntingdon just got hammered on by Bellwood, but they are 2-0 in their section of the ICC. Should they win this one, they'll prove to be a player in the ICC South division championship. The Rockets move to 4-2 on the season behind Goshorn and Reed in week 6.

Northern Bedford @ Tussey Mountain
This was potentially the game of the week, but Tussey Mountain stumbled last week at Moshannon Valley. The Titans offense has been explosive this year. How many touchdowns do they have over 60 yards? They are putting up lots of points and Vinnie Coy just keeps racking up yardage and touchdowns. Josh Smith has put together a very nice offense that after being shut out by Juniata Valley in week one is averaging over 30 points per game. NBC is 5-0 and is riding Preston Albright right now. In the last two weeks he has had over 60 carries. The Panthers passing attack has been good as well behind Logan Fluke. Northern Bedford does a good job against the run. Can they stop this great rushing attack? If they can limit the Titans big plays they'll move to 6-0. It's a big "if" though since most teams haven't been able to.

Moshannon Valley @ Bellwood
The Black Knights exploded last week as Derek Southern went for nearly 300 yards on the ground. Bellwood dominated once again and moved to 4-1 as they whipped up on Southern Huntingdon. MV has looked better in the last two weeks as they played well versus Glendale and then beat Tussey. Going into Bellwood though is not easy as everyone knows. The Blue Devils are playing very good defense right now and have a front 8 capable of slowing Southern down.

West Branch @ Claysburg Kimmel
I said it before and I'll say it again. This West Branch team has a decent defense. It has kept them in some games even though they've struggled on offense. The Bulldogs lost last week at Northern Bedford but their offense showed up life putting 18 points on the board. If West Branch gets their offense going they are going to be a tough out in this last part of the season. West Branch gains some confidence and spoils Claysburg's homecoming.

Game of the Week: Glendale @ Juniata Valley
Monster game. Tyler Jenny has been a stud all year long. Along with Ty Stackhouse and Braniff, they are an explosive offense. They can pass and they can run. Juniata Valley has been playing tremendous offensively and defensively. They are averaging about 35 points per game and they've only allowed 30 points on the year (32, but it was a safety last week). So the obvious storyline is Glendale's offense versus Juniata Valley's defense. Who will win this battle? Then the other question is, can Glendale stop the JV run? They have been suspect against the run to this point in the year as NBC and MV have both run on them. Weicenburg and Morrison have run on everybody and they're both averaging over 9 yards per carry. Their quarterback Carper hasn't been bad either as he has over 500 yards passing. I really don't know who to pick here. The only thing I feel going against JV is that they are younger than Glendale. It is harder to win when you rely on the pass though and that's what Glendale banks on. Who to pick, who to pick??? Everything points to Juniata Valley, but I'm going to go the other way. Going against my brain and my gut feeling... :? Just not sure if JV can stop Glendale's passing attack. JV loves to bring the blitz. Will their aggressive style win out or will Jenny take advantage of it? Enough typing and thinking about this, here is my pick.

Glendale has JV this week and Bellwood next week. Lots to be determined in the ICC North and obviously the game this week is huge for both teams being that they are both undefeated in conference.
