LV Rams conference
Re: LV Rams conference
being heavily involved with youth sports and booster groups for years or so on both ends of the valley, I can tell you that many parents think that their child is much better than they actually are. Many of them, especially on the Ligonier end, opted to send their kid to McCort or GCC believing that they had a better chance at recieving a scholarship. Then their was another faction of parents from Ligonier that were tired of losing and they petitioned the schoolboard to join the Heritage and had the support of their coaches. Now with the additional athletes from laurel Valley. I think that the prestige (scholarship chance) is apparent again in the south. That is why the board petitioned the LH for entrance. The coaches probably want to stay in the HC. After all most of them just want to win! Myself, I would prefer to stay in the Heritage. However I think that we will end up in the LH. If not CR is up yhe creek without a paddle.
Re: LV Rams conference
Whether Ligonier Valley and Chestnut Ridge want in the LHAC or not has no bearing on the 2011 Football schedule. The LHAC has already made the decision to move forward with the proposed schedule which does not include LV or CR. Look for those two to make a home in the LHAC in the near future, but not on the Football schedule until the 2012 season.
Re: LV Rams conference
I heard that Leechburg has asked about joining the Heritage. So if Leechburg and W. Shamokin join Ligonier can leave and it wont hurt the conference.

Re: LV Rams conference
When does LV Board have their meeting to make a final decision on LHAC or Heritage?
Re: LV Rams conference
I think it will be some time for the decision to be made. The district just learned today that Judge Caruso upheld the LVSD's decision to close Laurel Valley. Now will more students cyberschool or flee to the parochials? It seems like the twenty Laurel Valley students on this years Ligonier team seem to be enjoying the season and I expect little to change. I'll always love Laurel Valley and will miss the old school, but now it's time to move on.
