FH, Tyrone ... How far? D6
Re: FH, Tyrone ... How far? D6
Hate to double post, but does anybody know why the PIAA switched the playoff pairings? I know from 1988 to 2004 District 6 played District 5 in AA and the mighty WPIAL got a bye to the semis. Then in 2004 D6 played D7, and the from 2006 D6 has played D10. Any clarification would be appreciated.

I could be wrong (and I hope I am), but I think the District 6 Champ (Tyrone, Forest Hills, Central, or whoever it may be) will beat the D10 Champ and lose to the WPIAL team. It isn't impossible to knock off the D7 team, but not probable this year. Good Luck to all District 6 teams for the remainder of the season. GO RANGERS!!!!!!!

Just from past experience we are 3-1 against WPIAL champs and 3-4 against D10, I wouldn't be so quick to assume that d7 is the tougher out. I only have seen 2 games with WPIAL aa teams this year but have not been impressed. Everyone has off days and that may have been what I saw. Just offering a thought.

Good point and well said. Seems that when D6 has a good team going into states then they compete well. Met up with D7 a few less times than D10 though.Eaglealum wrote:Just from past experience we are 3-1 against WPIAL champs and 3-4 against D10, I wouldn't be so quick to assume that d7 is the tougher out. The WPIAL exercised its clout to get more teams into its playoffs, which necessitated another week for their championships, while the others, D6-10, 9-5, etc. moved into first round of states, or quarterfinals.
It ain't over until it's over.

I like the chances for D6 AA this year, we will at least get to see some great match ups coming very soon! Should be a great year for the playoffs!
Re: FH, Tyrone ... How far? D6
Whichever one of these teams has to face Richland in the playoffs will have a tough time coming out of the first round. Richland is now starting to run the ball and average almost 3oo or more rushing yards a game. They barely pass the ball and they found out that they do not need a passing game in order to win. All they have to do is give the ball to Rizzo, Cinko, Walton, or Rozich and they will win. No defense can stop all 4 of them. They have all different types of skills. Rizzo can run anyone over. Cinko has very elusive moves and make it very had to tackle him. Walton is becoming a better runner and is becoming a part of the rams offense. Rozich is used for his rabbit-like quickness and tremendous speed. So i would like to see a defense stop them.

Are you serious? The rams are starting to become a great team. And they now no they can run the ball and pound it down the other team's throat.
