isn't hockey considered a club sport, not a sanctioned PIAA sport?

Thanks for the info Crimson. Yes, it's a club sport. I know PIAA can't or won't sanction it because of insurance costs.

Back to the enrollment numbers; I've heard that Clairton is soon to be on the chopping block over in WPIAL land. Same with Sto-Rox. Clairton students will be absorbed into Thomas Jefferson then. Bill Cherpak was quoted as saying he'll never lose again after that happens.

Clairton and TJ are literally 2 minutes apart. And Cherpak is right, he wouldn't lose again. I mean he rarely loses in the WPIAL as it is...

The article is from last year, but I doubt much has changed in the time between. Sto-Rox would consolidate with Montour AND Carlynton.

Wow. Sto-Rox already is a jointure of Stowe Twp. & McKees Rocks. Carlynton is a triple jointure of Carnegie, Rosslyn Farms, and Crafton. Not sure if Montour is or not- I work with a guy from there and will ask him tomorrow. Some interesting pairings. Are they chiseled in stone?

Ok so just for fun purposes on seeing what names people will come up with.......

Stowe Township + McKees Rocks = Sto Rocks

And

Carnegie + Rosslyn Farms + Crafton = Carlynton

So then

Sto Rock + Carlynton = ?????(Name the school)
