Just some thoughts from the game since people were looking at the stats and not actually knowing what happened. North Star had about 5 first downs. They had the ball at the Bears 5 yard line before turning it over on downs. The -5 total yards is a bit overlooked. Most of them yards were from 2 bad snaps that resulted in 20 yard losses. There were times that they actually played with Clairton, but the big plays killed them. They would get them in a 3rd and long situation and then give up a big play. North Star did hold them to 8 points in the 2nd quarter. In the end, they were just too fast. I haven't seen a team that quick on the defensive side of the ball. Straisser literally had 2 secs to get the ball off. Hats off the Max, he eluted so many Bear players in the game in the 1st half. They gave up in the 2nd half and that is where the stats ended up looking bad. It was somewhat of a game in the 1st half. It very well could of been 16-0 at half. I didn't agree with much of NS play calling. Clairton was blitzing 7 guys every play and they would still just run the ball up the gut and get stuffed. Then during passing plays they were under center a lot. They needed to be more in shotgun to have a little more time.
The only way this team losses this year is if a team has a TREMENDOUS O-line and can pass the ball. If there was any weakness in them it was defending the passing game. Congrats once again North Star on a great year. Should be back in the state playoffs next year.

18-0, thanks to the single-wing.

Crimson, if you see this, where did Elijah Fields end up after getting kicked off the team?

Once again youngbuck proves he is the classiest poster on this site! As a BC coach don't you have better things to do than to rip on high school kids???

OK, thanks. He'd be a senior about now, right? He had a lot of talent and I feel bad for the kid, but that's the way life goes sometimes. It's a shame.
