Tip Off Tournaments
Re: Tip Off Tournaments
I remember that game; Hempfield high school where FH is playing Saturday. Henry Pwono had an ugly shot, or something was goofy about his game that his size made up for. And it was the Long family on that team, not the Martins. Don't know where that came from.
Re: Tip Off Tournaments
does FH play at Chestnut Ridge friday and saturday?
Re: Tip Off Tournaments
FH is 3A in hoops, according to today's Trib-Democrap. Nobody cares yet about the FH hoops team/ tournament. The cash cow, football Rangers, is playing in Hempfield Sat. Talk hoops next week. Unless the BIG guy smiles down on the Rangers and we go to Hershey next week. Postpone it another week.
It ain't over until it's over.

Martin Long=Currently a senior at North Catholic and their "star player" who wouldn't even be smelling the floor at AAAA Shaler Area this season, where he is a resident. BIG BIG BIG difference between AA and AAAA in basketball and football...Had to laugh when NCatholic's coach was quoted in the PG a year or so ago, saying how much better AA was than AAAA. Long is where he belongs playing A/AA basketball and football.

I remember in my senior year summer games we destroyed about 3-4 WPIAL AAAA teams.

Since when do summer league games count for anything?
Does anyone know or remember or care who wins games or leagues in the summer or at team camps?
Teams play differently, experiment, don't always have full rosters, don't game plan, etc. for summer league and other off-season games. Therefore, I place zero stock in summer league or team camp results. Those are simply times for players to experiment and get better and for coaches to experiment and evaluate talent. They're nothing more than false positives.

Never cared for North Catholic. A little to full of themselves IMO. Didn't they play Shaler a couple years ago? I'm thinking 06 or 07. I saw where Martin Long may be out for awhile because of a football injury. Mike White is also pretty high on your guy who transferred into Shaler from SSA, Titan. I'm sure he's a great player, but I never really liked Mike White either.

Central/Martinsburg Tip Off Tourny
Game 1: Penns Valley over Juniata Valley
Game 2: Central over Williamsburg
Sloppy play in general. Central will be fortunate to win 5 to 7 games this year in my opinion. Rather small and inexperienced.
