BASEBALL $$$

Post by Eaglealum »

Big Albert is renovating FT Knox to house his next contract, Jason Werth 126 mil. Crawford 140+, Lee will be 150-175,.....and the Cardinals painted themselves into a corner by saying publiclly that him leaving won't be likely.....cha-ching!!! Disgusting with the economy the way it is, especially when you figure that the Pirates franchise isn't worth the size of the top couple contracts. The only chance Pittsburgh has is if the Nuttings sell them to someone that has money to dump into contracts, the current regime is doing a great job of making the franchise worth a little more with the facilities built in South America, and actually stockpiling legitimate talent at the minor league level, but will need ownership that will pay to keep that talent and not just be a feeder system for the Yankees, Sox, and Angels.

The pirates would be awesome right now if the owners would have done the right thing and sold the team to Mark Cuban a couple years back when he wanted to buy them.....

and just on a baseball has ridiculously high salaries note. I find it very disgusting to see such an egregious amount of money being paid to these baseball players from only a certain amount of clubs and is the major reason why I love rooting against the yankees and every other team that just throws money at every player. the NFL may be infuriating me at the moment with the fines, but at least their is parody and teams can easily bounce back after some struggling (the chiefs and the raiders are a quick example). The pirates will struggle endlessly because they simply cannot compete in keeping their top talent and the fact that they choose not to pay any high salaries at all hurts as well.
