I'm not sure on CR's record but only regular dual meets count. Dual meet tourney records do not.

Lefteye is correct, but also the rankings were only updated through January 14th, Ridge lost to North Star Tuesday to drop to 4-6 for this purpose, so Tussey match won't be enough for them.

ok im just gonna try to go from memory..i know they beat somerset, hyndman, central cambria, everett..they lost to berlin, conemaugh township, berlin, NBC, bedford, claysburg, North Star. So I am mistaken they will not make district duals even with a won tonight.

With Shade's 47-21 loss to Berlin last night, I believe that the D5 duals will be hosted by a 2 loss team amongst NBC, Bedford & Somerset, with NBC finishing higher in points if Bedford loses both matches. I would assume that NBC's gym would be deemed big enough to host the event, particularly since other than Bedford the visitors would be coming from Somerset County. I can only imagine the howling that would come out of Lloysburg if the event was moved elsewhere.

Question for everyone then. Does that make saturdays match between Bed & NBC a little bigger. I think you would want the duals in your home gym. So if your NBC or Bedford are you moving people around now more then you would if Shade had #1 locked up.

imo it doesn't change things, aside from injury situations both coaches should be going all out for team wins. As such I disagree with S-Cube's post in the Bed/NBC page. Plenty of the normal weight matchups will occur anyway during the Thomas tournament. Some of these kids could easily wrestle each other 3 times in the next 3 weeks, even before getting to the individual district tournament.

As I stated earlier, upgrade the schedule.

Further evidence of the meaningless of Shade wrestler's records - the well discussed 16-9 103 lb. wrestler lost last night to a Berlin wrestler who came into the match with a 4 (2 forfeits) -8 record. Ditto 17-3 @ 152 (not Otten) losing to a wrestler that was 9-10.

Nothing we can do about our schedule when our coach asks the a.d. to drop 3 schools and try to get us into the Thomas Chev. tourney for much more competition and the a.d. refuses saying he doesn't like to drop schools and wants to keep the same schedule. At least now our team wrestles a full schedule. When my brother was first in Jr. High I remember Shade went to tournaments in Maryland against weak Maryland schools. I would agree that a better system for ranking teams needs to be put in...we're obviously not as good as Bedford, NBC, and Somerset. We can compete with others in D5 though. We win the toss against Berlin then they can't move from Otten and Shade gets better match ups. We'd still have lost to a better Berlin team, but wouldn't have been as lopsided as it seemed. Again though with the schedule, I know for a fact our coaches have tried getting better competition. They're hoping with a new a.d. coming in due to old one retiring, maybe they can get those changes. I do remember though last year our school had room on the schedule for one match. Our a.d. contacted every d5 school and d6 schools within an hour from Shade to get a full schedule and the only school that responded was United so United got put on our schedule. Our schedule isn't the toughest but at leaset our boys are improving and our coaches are pushing for tougher schedule. Not too long ago Shade kids only tried head locks and never had a chance to win going into their matches. At least now they do...that's good for Shade.....a better ranking system would be good for the district (d5).

I agree also - that was a great post on the state of Shade wrestling. As you said, hopefully the new AD will work with the coaching staff on the schedule. It must be frustrating for the coaching staff to have minimal/no input on the team's schedules.
