Re: D5 Dual Meet Tournament
The winner of tonight's Somerset/Bedford match sure should have the inside track for hosting the dual meet tournament. Somerset only has a match with North Star, Bedford has 1 with Johnstown (AAA) and perhaps Richland?, while NBC has Southern Huntingdon and Juniata Valley remaining.

Re: D5 Dual Meet Tournament
I kind of remember Shade's first year at districts and I am not sure they scored a point. Their wrestling program has come a long way since then. At Northern they seemed in shape and very physical, but their overall knowledge level seemed low in the majority of bouts. Coaches seemed young, exuberent and full of knowledge. It is very hard to start wrestling in high school and compete some individuals can accomplish this but enough for a team is unlikely. 14 kids can start in wrestling while only 5 in the other sport. Strong elementary programs with the student athletes involved is stronger in the long run than better competition where only a few compete. Parent sacrifice is of the utmost during the elementary years with the time and travel. It is hard to start out behind in competition and then catch up. I know more have competed in MAWA's and such but not as noticeable in the younger groups. Good Luck not only to Shade but to all wrestlers. I kind of remember Shade's first qualifier I think a 215lber who moved up not sure though.
