FUNK Goodell
Re: FUNK Goodell
Legal age of consent in New York is 17. In New Jersey it's 16.

Re: FUNK Goodell
You're right. The NFL needs to crack down on players sleeping with women that agree to have sex that are of legal age. Oh wait, there'd be no NFL.

Re: FUNK Goodell
I didn't say anything about it being illegal. Big Ben did nothing illegal and he got suspended for 6, then 4 games.
Would you feel the same if it were a 33 year old player, or a 43 year old coach? You know if it was big, mean, scary James Harrison with some 17 yr old, people would be up in arms. Goodell is an a--bag, and if he is going to drop the hammer on Ben 'poor judgment', I think he should at least say something against players banging high school kids.

Re: FUNK Goodell
Sanchez is only 24. Ben was accused of rape twice. These two things aren't even comparable. Ben was an idiot and he even admits it himself. If he didn't play quarterback, he'd no longer be with the Steelers.

Re: FUNK Goodell
The thing that stuck out to me was that with both Ben's Milledgeville case and Sanchez's case the girls were underage and in night clubs drinking. Goodell suspended Ben for behavior detrimental to the league's image. He wasn't convicted, it's not a question of legality, but he still got punished. I think he's a scumbag, but you don't think Sanchez's behavior is similar?

Re: FUNK Goodell
Did Sanchez have anything to do with this girl drinking???? This would be providing alcohol to a minor. The sex thing here is irrelevent since she was of age and wasn't forced to do it against her will. If he gave the girl booze, then that IS a problem.

Re: FUNK Goodell
It had nothing to do with Ben, it had everything to do with Ben being a high profile WHITE athlete. That is the reason the punishment was so severe. Sanchez will not get anything out of this altercation.

Re: FUNK Goodell
The girl who Ben got in trouble with told police that "he approachd her with his **** hanging out and followed her into a bathroom where he had sex with her against her OBJECTIONS". THAT was the problem.

Here's another fact. Ben was never charged with a crime. The NFL suspended him for six, then four games based upon the word of a drunk girl wearing a DTF badge.
