Re: d6 results
Link's dominance this year - before the tournament he had:
24 falls
4 forfeits
2 technical falls
3 major decisions - 125 Kushner Westmont, 119 Miller Berlin, 112 Thomas Bedford
1 loss 3-0 @ 119 to Nelson of Waynesburg Central, a returning AAA place winner.
As far as seeing him at states, how about a finals matchup with Nick Roberts @ Johnstown in 2 weeks? As I'm guessing that nobody beats either of them before that point.

Congrats to all placewinners, and special mention for Chris Gallaher for his determination to overcome all his adversity of the past couple months. Jeff Meier also. Winning all matches by fall. Really sorry I couldn't see any of this years performances. Good luck to all at Regionals, and I hope in someone's infinite wisdom, that D 6 gets back that 5th place advance-to-regionals next year. The power of the WPIAL bloc/ lobby astounds me.
It ain't over until it's over.

I look forward to the matches like 5th and 6th because as we all know winner goes on and its pretty much what the sport is all about this saturday thoses matches werent as good as the years past for D6. Not saying anything on the kids, because they have no control but as a fan it was just harder to watch.
Cant agree anymore with ya!Manfred wrote:The power of the WPIAL bloc/ lobby astounds me.

Re: d6 results
I don't even think that this was a WPIAL issue, I think that this was the PIAA dictating regional spots based on % of schools, as well as the 3 qualifier minimum for D5. Coach Marko mentioned a plan to have D7 get 7, D6 get 5 & D5 get 3 that all 3 districts agreed to, but PIAA declined. Perhaps that will be the plan for 2013 & beyond.
Would Forest Hills have won the tournament if Brydon had wrestled @ 285?

Yes. I think he would have had a good chance to advance to the War Memorial. After the top 3 that was a pretty poor weight class.odoyelrules wrote:Would Forest Hills have won the tournament if Brydon had wrestled @ 285?
Re: d6 results
The WPIAL and district 5 were okay with a 15 man bracket at regionals..........The lack of representation from the district 6 chair was the reason the 5th qualifier was lost. Time for a change at the top in district 6.

Forest Hills probably would have won the tournament if Brydon wrestled. However, they didn't win and you can "Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda" all day long and it won't matter. The fact is that Forest Hills came up just a bit short of the Team Title. Brydon would have been good for a handful of wins and advancement (depending on his place in the brackets). You could also look at the fact that Penn Cambria was without Jon Stoy and A.J. St. Clair (two solid wrestlers) and Juniata was without Tad Treaster and so on and so on. It was an outstanding effort by the Rangers to finish with 5 Regional Qualifiers and 3 total champs (the most of any team there). Billy Wolfhope and Zack Pinkas were a win away from advancing. Congratulations to Juniata for winning the Championship and to the Rangers. Good Luck to all the locals at Regionals!!!!

Anyone watch the Rizzo/Morris final @ 285?
The 3-2 final score makes it look like Rizzo had his hands full!
