Re: Playoff Sweep
Just because a team presses doesn't mean they didn't let off the gas. Pressing is a style of play for BFalls. That’s what they do. The kid’s emotion and demeanor wasn't the same after the first 5 minutes of the game, but I don't blame them I couldn't get up for Tussey either. Let me tell you that's not the same team I seen play against Aliquippa. They didn't take a play off in that game. I seen them take plenty of plays off last night I'm sure you can revert back to the begininng of the 2nd quarter, TussyMntFan. Don't be blinded by the fact that your team put up a fight and kept the game close. Nothing against Tussey but BFalls was not playing hard the whole game.
Re: Playoff Sweep
Then they have some serious issues out there at Beaver Falls. If a team is up by a only few points most of the second half and not playing hard, then under what circumstances would they play hard?
Re: Playoff Sweep
I think shade, Carroll, Mccort, and richland will advance to the next round, and shade and BC will play if that happens so that would be an area team in the quarterfinals, I think Shade is gonna win because from what ive heard Clairton is extremely undisciplined and not very good (but they are in the WPIAL and play superior competition so anything can happen) Carroll is playing Dubois CC who lost to harmony by 8, and Carroll beat Harmony by 18, McCort will play Beaver Falls who played Tussey who was in the game almost the whole time, and Tussey beat mccort by 3, but that was the fourth game of the season and Mccort has improved drastically since then, and Richland will beat North Star becauses of experience against more difficult teams, but even if NS won that would still be a win for an area team

North Star is 10-15 points better than Richland, But Loya for whatever reason coaches timidly in Playoffs, So it could be close. Richland playing in a District Playoff game in their parking lot, haha and its a road game.
Bishop Carroll should beat DCC. DCC plays a slow paced game, and BC plays an up tempo pressing style, and from seeing DCC start the game down 15-1 against McCort's press, something similar can happen. Especially for a 5 o'clock road game 3 hours away.
Shade and McCort are in the same boat. They both play extremely athletic, yet undisciplined teams. Shade's stuck in Gateway I believe, whereas McCort is playing their 4th game at Richland HS this year. I think both local teams can win. Its the playoffs, anyone can do anything. McCort has some athletes that can run with Beaver Falls, but have to see a 6-7 guard that will be playing D1 after next season, and a big strong Linebacker that will be going to Pitt. Tough matchups, but Beaver Falls man to man Defense isn't all that great. Clairton has 6-5 Texas Tech recruit, Desimon Green. They were 9-10 after the regular season, but did beat #1 seed Rochester, so they have gotten better. Teams that play Football late in the year often start basketball slow. Gibbons will be the best player on the floor, he's going to need to score a bunch of points.

Re: Playoff Sweep
I'm not in any way saying Beaver Falls played their best game. I would hope they would play better against their rival (Aliquippa) than they would against TM. You were making it sound like they just went out and went through the motions. I didn't see that and if they did and are that good without trying they'll easily win the state championship. The 18-5 start was due to alot of TM turnovers. I think they were a little overwhelmed by the whole situation. Once TM settled down they played very well. I don't disagree that BFalls took plays off. They are extremely undisiciplined. Up 5 or 6 with 3 minutes to go and coming down and firing up 3's. Then coming back to the other end and fouling 30 feet from the basket. If the emotion wasn't there why did Cook, a 6'4" 230 lb. kid, get a T for shoving Husick, a 5'10" 140 lb. kid. It was a pretty good game. Don't take anything away from either team, they both played hard and in the end the better team won.thetruth22 wrote:Just because a team presses doesn't mean they didn't let off the gas.
