Actually CH was not that bad in the mid-90's. Did some research of FH games with CH from 1993-1999 and here are the scores. Gauge this anyway you want:
1993 FH 26 CH 6 at Portage field for the League Championship
1994 FH 26 CH 0 At FH field the year FH went to the state championship
1995 FH 25 CH 12 At Patton FH up 13-12 at half. Worst downpour I ever sat in during the second half
1996 FH 21 CH 14 At FH Moved from a Friday night to Saturday night because of Hurricane Fran
1997 FH 38 CH 27 At FH
1998 FH 30 CH 8 At Patton Both teams were 4-0. Packed field that night.
1999 FH 37 CH 0 At FH
The rest is history.

No matter which way you cut it, don't see any CH victories in that list. Are we giving points for being close now?

I said, gauge it ANY WAY YOU WANT!!!! My point is, they WERE competitive in the '90's. I did mention CH was 4-0 when FH met them in 1998. Hey, not MANY teams beat FH in the '90's. FH had over 100 victories in that decade. CH did play them tough in 93, 95, 96, 97, and 98. So what if they didn't beat FH back then. They beat somebody, didn't they?

Not arguing with you. Guess my point was that they got rid of Myers for only winning two games. I was at all of those games back then too. I'm way older than I wish to admit :) At that time Ligonier, Vo Tech, Richland, and a few others were automatic W's. None of those games in the LHAC any more.

I got news for you. The competition in the area is NOT as good as in the '90's, in ANY conference. Don't say that CH won more often in those days because the competition was not as good.

I do think the competition is better now then before acctually. When I played I worked in the summer and went to some summer running and lifted when I could and did well. But now it is a year round game and the players have to be more commited. Also when I played the bishops didn't get the local athletes as much, to also add Johnstown came to the LHAC.

If the Bishops "back then didn't get the athletes as much", then wouldn't ALL the other teams be BETTER if those kids would have stayed home?

Forest Hills used to consider the "Stretch of the Cambria's" the toughest stretch of the schedule. It used to go Week 5 CH, Week 6 CC, and week 7 PC...with all being solid teams and being in the middle of the season. All those teams played hard nosed physical football.
And the last thing I must tell you...NEVER QUIT!
