Not really an update, but Bob Huggins is at Richland High School to watch Beaver Fall's #34 Jeter.

For those of us that are not to familiar with Thorpe maybe he will have a coming out party in the PIAA AAAA tourny this year!

Good game overall and Huggins was there today to see Jeter. Too bad today was probably his worst shooting day of the year but made clutch free throws to ice the game.

Thoughts....McCort doesn't go in the tank to start the game, they probably win. From an athletic standpoint, McCort was right there(5-7 LaRue getting up to block big Devin Cook's shot)....The thing that buried the Crushers was allowing 2nd chance points, They let Beaver Falls off the hook by giving them extra opportunities. And another thing that cost them the game, was Beaver Falls ability to knock down 3's. I didn't anticipate their guards to make some of those shots. But hey you get the ball back down 2 with 20 seconds and you get a 3 pointer half way down.....You live with it. Jeter can't play in the Big East. He is good. Cook out muscled the younger big guys for the Crushers, but lost his cool a lot.
They are a good team, thats a tough draw for McCort or anybody for that matter. But this Crusher team can do some damage next year. Spotting Beaver Falls a 20-6 lead, and getting back to 2 points in the third and forth quarters. They went down fighting. Good season. good things to come.

I did a double dip today so I'll give some Richland/North Star thoughts as well....
North Star was the far superior team and they are very athletic. Yet for whatever reason they let Richland into the game. Whoever said Fleegle was the best player in Somerset County, hmmm might want to reconsider. I see him as the third best player on his team. Straiser and Walker are definitely better. Straiser got a steal early in the game and I wasn't expecting the two hand throwdown with authority haha. Wow he can play. Walker's Basketball sense is very high. Richland battled back from down ten at half, Malzi played his heart out. He's a tough player, but I don't understand why Richland wastes 3 minutes each half by not starting Kyle Flick? He is their 2nd best player. He makes things happen. A few of those starters are nowhere near him.


Good run for all the teams. Gotta love HS Basketball.

Just because you have 1 bad game doesn't mean you are bad and not an m.v.p.! I bet he still was in double figures and alot of assists and rebounds! He is clearly the best player on that team crimson and how can you even make a comment like that about a kid who had a great senior year is ridiculous! I would say you don't like him and want someone else to get m.v.p.! You probably didn't see too many north star games this year to make such a wrong assessment on a good kid and a great ballplayer. Wow, what are you smoking to make such a dumb comment about a kid that carried his team all season. That is like saying gibbons or will doesn't deserve it because they have 1 bad game! These kids are in high school and will have off nights as does pros. Look at the stats from all their games and you will see who carried that team. Shame on you! He is ten times better than any of your mccruit boys!!!!!

I didn't say he was bad, I said there is clearly 2 players better than him on his own team. Nothing wrong with having three good players, just he is in fact the third of those 3. He really struggled bringing up the ball on Solarczyk, and had his head down quite a bit. I honestly care more about what I am having for dinner next Tuesday more than who wins Somerset County MVP. And I'm sorry I offended you, but not one time did I say he was bad, I just said he had two teammates that were better. Walker and Straiser could both start for McCort, I don't see where that kid compares to the McCort players. He is not 10 times better than Nemo Trexler, he is not even better than him at all. Sorry. Honest opinion. I believe he had 3 points By the Way, unless he hit some late foul shots.

I saw Fleegle single-handedly keep NS close to JHS in the Mountain Cat Tourny until midway through the 3rd without Straisser playing.

I don't know what you say today Crimson, I wasn't there. But what I saw of that Fleegle kid against Johnstown I'd take him in a second.
