Cruz Control
Cruz Control
According to Pantherlair, TE Mike Cruz was suspended from the Pitt football team for violation of team rules on Monday and opted to leave the team, head coach Todd Graham announced on Tuesday. Cruz started 12 games for Pitt in 2010. His departure marks the end of a tenuous relationship between the Johnstown Bishop McCort alum and the University of Pittsburgh. He committed to Pitt in April 2007, but re-opened his recruitment less than a week later, citing concerns about Pittsburgh's "city environment" and a desire to take other official visits. He never took any other visits and re-committed to Pitt in January 2008. During his time with the Panthers, Cruz was absent several times for "personal reasons".

Re: Cruz Control
Don't you just love the Johnstown/surrounding area mentality of cutting down success of anyone else unless its your own guy? And willing to point out anything negative about that person.
I sure do.
all those Forest Hills kids playing in a major college conference sure do stink.

There's nothing derogatory about my post. It was directly quoted from pantherlair.com

Re: Cruz Control
Lets not throw stones around here. As of late, players coming from McCort and going D1 or D2 haven't really panned out. I would be a prime example. Went to Hurst got a med red, just didn't like Erie or the football program too much. Went to W&J played, didn't see any future in football and dropped that, focused on school. Aside from me, a number of other McCort products ended there careers prematurely for any number of reasons.
A look on the bright side, is that the younger gentlemen from McCort are doing fairly well it seems. Only time will tell.

Re: Cruz Control
mccort gets more players playing in college=more kids transfer in(easily) that happen to be good football players
an advantage public schools don't have.
Out of curiosity crimsom, are there current mccort alums on actual football scholarship(not aid or academic)?

Re: Cruz Control
With Cruz gone, I think there are none currently, don't know which one you were talking to. Lowry could be as well as Josh S., but not so sure.

Lowry and Caperelli both play for RMU.
Domonkos and Penska are at SFU
Fritz is at WMU
Rugg is at Lehigh
Seidel is at IUP
Don't know their status of scholarships
