You know how Pennsylvania determines it's high school wrestling state champion? They pit TEAMS against each other. The ones that lose are eliminated, the ones that win keep going. Eventually you end up with 2 teams who wrestle against each other. The winner of that match is the state champion. In college, you have RANDOM INDIVIDUAL MATCHES in which points are scored. These points are added up and the team with the most points is the national champion. THIS...IS...A...JOKE!!!!

Re: Cael Sanderson accepts wrestling job.
They don't have random individual matches moldo. They determine the team champion based off the points accumulated by the individual qualifiers in the NCAA championship tournament. Penn State had 3 finalist and other place winners and won the team championship by a landslide. This system makes perfect sense for college because a team tournament (as is completed in high school) would be more travel expenses, etc...and everyone knows that wrestling isn't a big money sport, so what's wrong with the system? Why is the system a joke just because Penn State had the team with the best individual wrestlers overall that accumulated the most points? The team element is still present because they only had one NCAA individual champion.
