GIGANTIC upset in AAAA

Mount Lebo 52
Penn Wood 48
in OT

PWood=3 D1 athletes on team, Brown headed to WVU, 6-8, 6-8, 6-6 across the front line. Fantastic effort and game plan by Lebo.

GCC-Monessen, great atmosphere. Great High School Basketball game.

GCC will have their hands full but Jesse Reed is one tough customer, he can shoot and make plays. Imhotep is nationally ranked, and the #2 overall team in PA. 3 D1 Basketball players on the roster.

As for the Western Final, Monessen and Greensbur Central traded blows and was a well fought game all game. GCC won the 1 and 4th quarters and Monessen held control through the middle. The Greyhound athletes were about as good as you will see, but they went about attacking GCC the wrong way. They had two big kids with size that could've fouled GCC's only big man out. Either way GCC made some big 3's and their foul shots down the stretch and erased a 6 point edge for Monessen going into the 4th. And the big thing that stuck out to me from my trip to Gateway, good officiating. D6 refs would have had 7 guys foul out, lost complete control of the game/crowd.
