Nbc surprised me at the scrimmage and hixson is a beast and ripped everyone up! The qb played well and #22 was a good wr as is #81. # 8 is a fast little tough runner and #25 wasn't bad, but I don't see him making it thru the season because he is small for a featured back. #10 threw some fantastic passes, but the secondary left alot of guys open and when hixson was out teams ran the ball on them. Shade drove it down running it on them even with hixson in and scored! Shade would have had another td on nbc, but the qb threw a horrible pass behind the wr who would have scored being he was so wide open, but he inted it and scored a td when he was burnt bad! I thought nbc and shade were by far the best teams at the scrimmage and walsh had some nice talent also! Shade drove the ball on all teams, mostly running after they settled down after 2 turnovers against nbc. Good job nbc for losing alot of talent and still being tough and hixson will play d-1 somewhere. # 22 and 8 were impressive! #8 is a really talented kid! I liked #8 better than #25 because he has speed and he can break tackles and has better moves! # 25 was tough on off. and def. though also! I knew shade would fare well against the district 5 runner up! Look out portage! The panthers will be ready! Gousse may out coach us though! You definitely have the better coaching staff! It won't be 50-0 like it always is, I can guarantee you that! We were knocking them of the ball last year at the beginning before kostan took charge along with nesbella, and that penalty on shade when they caught the pass to the 5 yard line killed them when shade then never recovered and turned it over on downs deep in mustang territory!

sppawfan,

First of all, because I can't stand reading your posts anymore, quit using exclamations! Where did you learn how to write? I have an idea. Regardless, within the English language it is completely improper, and impossible, to pen a paragraph that contains all exclamations. I just had to get that off my chest.

Now to the Shade - Portage matchup, take the line below to the bank.

Shade (+30) @ Portage

I would like to apologize for our number 1 fan (hater) at Shade. Please bleachercoaches community don't lump our team or community with this fan. We ALL know who this is. Know one else cares enough to spend all day on other teams websites looking at stats or to watch a scrimmage and critique the other team like he did NBC earlier. This fan has never liked any coaches at Shade no matter the sport but only has applied 1 time to coach. He is an expert of everything. He has gone as far as getting his hands on films and getting kids to his house to tell players what an idiot the coaches are and this should be what you should be doing. Need I repeat applied to coach 1 time. He was an assistant 2 years ago and was let go after a few weeks. He is and has been the problem at Shade. I hope our boys have a good season and wish everyone we play good luck. Portage go know farther than Mr. Slonac on your staff to find out what our #1 is like.

yah pittsburgher run your mouth behind closed doors some more and It doesn't sound like I am a shade hater. It sounds to me that They have a decent team this year. The only one cutting them down is portage people. I gave nbc a compliment on doing better than I thought they would if you could read. Is this better portage alum. No exlamations!!!! I gave kudos to players that had a good scrimmage and who stood out because I know football and could see it unlike you. Shade would sooner bring in bad coaches than good coaches to win. They always hire teachers to coach and most teachers don't know the game. Kids go to others on our team for help because they see coaches don't know what they are doing. If shade did have the coaching this year, they would win at least 6 games or more. I would say shade can and will beat portage, but I know gousse will outcoach our coaches for his team. If I hate shade so bad, then why would kids look elsewhere for help other than their coaches????? You can't make a kid or pay a kid to do this, they realize where the real coach is.

Ok already. Enough with the Shade-Portage stuff. How about some reports on some other teams. I was out of town on business and didn't get to any scrimmages last night.

I talked to my brother today to see what time my nephew's junior high scrimmage starts on Tuesday and he mentioned to me that the Jays beat both Marion Center and Ferndale last night. He seemed pretty excited.
Not sure what both teams have to offer...but I haven't heard my brother talk this good about football in a while...

I asked him for specifics but he just said the Jays were able to run and pass - the defense didn't allow a TD.

Could this be the year for the underdogs?!

(with all this Shade talk)

I figured c.v would be decent this year with almost everyone back from last year. Good luck to c.v. and hopefully they get a few wins this year. I think rockwood, c.v, and shade will surprise some teams this year. They are the sleepers for this coming year and hopefully their are no more 50-0 games. They get boring to watch.
