I'm impressed, but I'm not ready to crown us yet. I'd feel great if we were still class A, because the level of talent we'll have to face if we make the playoffs will be much tougher at AA.

Could it be a return to the glory days of Tink Stennett and company? Those were some great teams!

Re: Most Under rated D5/6 Teams?
Week 1 was very telling in the ICC. Mount Union showed that they are for real and have to be considered the overwhelming favorite in the ICC South. Their win over Huntingdon was very impressive. They should have no trouble with the A teams in their schedule.
Northern Bedford showed themselves to be, at best, a 6-3 team. The loss to Moshannon Valley means that they will have trouble competing with Juniata Valley and Mount Union. Thats three losses unless the Panthers can pull off a pretty serious upset. Three given losses means the Panthers have no room for a mistake vs other opponents to pull off the 6-3 record.
The Titans had, few, and I stress few, successes against Juniata Valley. JV is a very good team, and showed their athleticism against the Titans. Tussey did put up 14 points, and will compete well against the lesser part of their schedule. I still see at least three, probably four, and potentially five wins with an upset for the Titans.

NB doesn't play Juniata Valley. 8-1 is still a great possibility.
Re: Most Under rated D5/6 Teams?
My ICC South rankings through one week...
1. Mount Union - Obviously with the win over Huntingdon they have to be considered the favorite from here on out. They were the only team in the South to come home with a week 1 win. The biggest threat to this team is now health. They had a ton of injury problems last year, and if that comes up again things can change quickly. Kie House missed a lot of time last year, and without him this team might go from an 8 or 9 win team to a 5 win team.
2. Northern Bedford - Lost a defensive struggle in week one to an experienced Mo Valley team. The Panthers held up pretty well against the run which is encouraging. They held Southern down surprisingly well. On the other hand the passing game wasn't as good as expected, but they are breaking in some new receivers. Once they get their timing down in the passing game this could be an exciting offensive football team. Anything less than 7-2 would be a disappointment IMO.
3. Everett - Lost a tight one with Glendale last week, but this team should continue to improve. I like some of their skill guys like Jays, Rhoat, and Goldizen to carry them to wins over the bottom tier teams. A big hurdle for this team is to settle on a quarterback. Waltman has gone with two quarterback systems before, and it usually doesn't work out too well.
4. Tussey Mountain - The Titans had a lot of trouble stopping the run last year, and honestly I don't see that getting any better. At least last year they had some firepower on offense to win a few shootouts. They should beat the teams without strong running games (SH and Williamsburg), but I don't see them standing much of a chance with anyone who can run the ball a little.
5. Southern Huntingdon - I put this team in the same boat as Tussey. It is a bit sad to see how far this program has fallen. At one time they were one of the best programs in the area, but the 21st century hasn't been kind to the Rockets. They do have a decent running back in Reed, but outside of him they don't have many proven playmakers.
6. Williamsburg - Took a thumping from Claysburg last week. Claysburg might be the most improved team in the ICC not named Mount Union, and they came out and blew Williamsburg out of the water. There is not much reason for optimism for the Blue Pirates on the gridiron this year. With just 22 kids on the roster, will they even be able to make it through the entire season? I'm not a big fan of consolidation, but there are a few cases where I feel it should happen, and this is one of them.
