Eaglealum,

With all due respect. Your homerism seems to have blinded you again. I didn't think that Gongloff had pinned Paris, but I went back and checked the paper and I was right. Gongloff beat Paris 11-6. Between you and 4him I'm sure your giving the bulldogs some great bulletin board material though. It's one thing to be supportive of your home team, it's another to put a wrestler down. CK won that tournament, but notice you don't see them coming on here and tooting their own horn. They seem to let their wrestlers do the talking for them on the mat. Perhaps that's why they are viewed as a class program and Tyrone often comes across as incredibly arrogant. Just something to think about.

I don't here people saying that Claysburg is a class program. But that's not to say that people's views aren't distorted. And saying that a wrestler will get crushed isn't putting them down. Now if it was said that he needed to lose some weight so he doesn't pop out of his singlet (not that I'm saying anyone does)...that is a little derrogatory.

Hey 4him,,maybe if you would spend a little less time on the computer,,maybe you would crack the line up at UPJ....never mind you will never crack the line up..to many good offensive wrestlers ahead of you...how's it feel to be ragged on

I find the criticism to be very motivational. When someone tells you that you can't do something, it is motivation to prove them wrong. It is likely that I would work harder if I was criticized more often.

I don't think once every couple of days is too much time one the computer. Its not too often enough to keep me from having all A's and a B+ last term. I think I manage my time well.

Wow are you two touchy! The fact that your defense mechanisms kicked into high gear usually means that a chord has been struck. Interesting. First let me say, seeing that I'm not from Claysburg, I don't really care enough about many of your arguements to delve in to deeply as far as they are concerned. I found both of your responses interesting though. As far as 4him's comment about how, "some have distorted views", then are you implying that if somebody has an opinion that is different than yours then their views are distorted? In other words, you are always right and anybody who thinks differently is wrong? Glad you weren't in charge back when people thought the world was flat. As far as your successes in the world of academia, I don't recall reading where hounddawg mentioned anything dealing with how good or bad your grades might be. He only mentioned wrestling. This is a wrestling forum right? By the way, watched you for many years and always enjoyed your wrestling. Keep up the good academic work.
As far as eaglealum, where do I begin. Let's go with my mentioning of Tyrone's arrogance. If you read my post, I said "comes off as arrogant." Since you didn't get that the first time, I'll explain. I did not call anybody arrogant. If somebody "comes off" as arrogant that's referring to how somebody presents themselves. Big difference. Apparently I'm not the only person who thinks this way because I noticed somebody on the District 6 rankings forum made a similar note. You may have tried to not put the Paris boy down. But the way it came across was belittling. Your sarcasm was dripping with your "yeah, yeah he would". By the way, that's great that Mertiff and the other boys will be back in the line up. But here again, you make it sound as if, because Tyrone only had 10 guys (which actually it was 11), that it would have changed the team outcome. I'll give you that. Tyrone would have finished ahead of Mt. Union. However they couldn't have even mathematically finished ahead of Claysburg. See how things may or may not be taken? Finally, I don't think I've ever seen a post on here from a Tyrone wrestler. Did I say I did? I was referring to my, all be it limited, interaction with their wrestlers and fans. May it be my problem? Sure! Quite possible! Just as it may be your problem to see nothing but orange and black, and 4him's problem that he evidently has against Claysburg. Good luck against Mt. Union. (Not that you'll need it, right?)

First off 4him was talking about his academics because of a remark made about him spending to much time on the computer. He was just mentioning about how he only is on a little a week and that he thinks its ok because he keeps his grades up. And as for tyrone kids coming off arrogant, they may seem this way because they have a legacy to live up to. C-K may have a good tourney team, but what is there dual team looking like. As I mentioned before there were no real C-K Tyrone pairing at the blair huntingdon tourney this past weekend. About the Tyrone match tonight against Mt. Union, they are a quality team and it should be a good match. Nothing is a guaruntee in wrestling.

Good post Matwizard. I see and understand all of your points, except one. OBVIOUSLY the amount of computer time isn't affecting 4him's grades. That is a very enviable grade point average than almost anyone would be enviable of. I thought I had commended him on it, but I'll do it again. Congratulations on your grades 4him. But once again, I go back to what houndawg was saying in that it's time not spent in wrestling. Houndawg never mentioned grades, only wrestling. 4him avoided that issue. I also think houndawg said what he said ONLY to dig at 4him though since 4him seems to have a thing against Claysburg and took exception to his comment. Whether he should have or not is not for me to decide. That's what I took from it, but perhaps I'm wrong on how somebody is intending words to be read. (Just like I could be wrong as far as the way Eaglealum's words were intended to be read.) That's one very bad thing about a forum. You can't hear a tone of voice.

PS, I'd MUCH rather be reading positive messages about wrestling rather than this totally useless bantering between myself, eaglealum and 4him. For example, how will Bedford rebound from this latest loss? Is Young still injured? He's much better than he's shown so far.

I edited my previous post,Morpheus actually made some good points that believe it or not I agreed with.Especially in light of what happened at P-O(my prayers go out as well),we all oughta put a little more thought into what we say or post.Lets keep it a little more positive.Because after all, after our boys,in March I pull for all the area kids at Regionals and Hershey.Good luck to all.
