Ligonier Valley Head Coach

Post by FHfan89 »

He went on record with the newspaper about being upset with FH Coach Todd Apple. The reffing crew I guess left a little to be desired and FH went for a 2 pt conversion near the end.

In reality is this any different than running the game up to 50-0 on teams? Actually probably not nearly as bad in reality.

I will go on the record and say that I felt the people of Ligonier Valley were very nice and the kids were awesome. Very warm reception. Quite cold and dreary outside and the kids enjoyed a mud bath.

Comming from a coach that put up 49 in week one and 35 in week two against week teams and said nothing. I expect nothing less from him. Congrats on the victory.

Here was the article.

I thought it was kind of harsh considering the past scores of his last 4 games.

The thing that miffs me is in one breath he plays with class and the next... "I have 17 seniors who will do a good job keep the players focused. I'd hate to be Marion Center next week."

Soooo. We are going to take it out on Marion. Hmm.

He also complained to the newspaper after their first victory about not getting respect.

Hello, you have not won a district playoff game since 1983. Last year, you rolled your opponents during the regular season and then lost to a .500 team in the first round of the playoffs. You can't complain about getting respect until you beat someone.

Props to Ligonier, though, for playing a very good opponent in Fort Hill. It should help prepare them for districts. I am rooting for them to make a run in the district playoffs.

The kids are awesome. Hands down. My hat goes off to those boys for hanging in there and not quiting. I hope they finish out the season healthy and do well.

This is Roger's interview on the MSA Sports network.

Fast forward to 1:26:00 to hear his....--- :(( well, you know.

I hope this team represents the conference well in the playoffs but I have a hard time feeling bad for them when they get "bullied"...(especially when Coach B was bragging about knocking players out of the game with his guards from Northern Cambria).

Clairton beats Avella 84-0. Gateway beats Norwin 85-0. Guess they just wanted to make a STATEMENT.

Yeah. There is a statement in there somewhere. Lol. I would have loved to see this game on turf.

Interesting to hear Beitel talk about wanting to a schedule teams like Bald Eagle and Penns Valley. Why, for a potentially easy win? He makes it sound like they don't want to be challenged at all during the regular season. Fort Hill wrecked their perfect regular season, boo hoo. Marino and Hillard are Heritage-apologists and always play-up the togetherness of the Indiana County teams. What a joke.

When do they vote on moving district/conferences? zonebreaker I have been saying all along they have not been able to compete with the top-tier schools. They haven't won a darn thing and are demanding respect? Get real. Talk to me when the playoffs come around. They may have a shot at the semi-finals, but can they compete with the likes of Richland, Tyrone, and Forest Hills? Don't count on it.

Kudos to the Fort Hill fans coming on here and representing their community.

I had a great time in Ligonier last night, even with the weather. I was told the people there are very nice and I wasn't disapointed. Very nice community. In retrospect that 2 point conversion was a mistake and looked bad. Coach Appel even owned it after the game. I think the Ligonier coach "protests too much". He might want to look in the mirror.
