Unfortunately the young Portage team just can't put a consistant positive 4 quarters together this year during any of their games(Win or Loss). Going down 21 - 0 in the 1st quarter was pretty much all she wrote, there was a little glimmer of hope when we cut it to 21 - 14, but the 50 yard TD pass for Ridge with 30 seconds to go in the half really turned the tide again. Hats off to the Ridge boys who played hard despite all of the unfortunate events leading up to the game. Also big props to the Portage Cheerleaders for standing where the Ridge Team walked in and clapping for them as they entered the stadium, also awesome gesture By the Mustang Football team by getting Yellow #16 stickers made for their helmets and wearing them for the game. A big THANK YOU to the Tech teacher Mr. Eric Zelanko for providing those stickers for our team. Good luck to Chestnut Ridge the rest of the way.

Yes, no doubt Portage is a class act. The stickers were a great thing to see, and to the Portage cheerleaders that was a great and heartwarming thing to do.

Thank you Portage!

Hats off to both teams. I remember we had the unenviable task of playing host to Tussey Mountain a few years ago when they had a player die in a tragic car accident.
