Sickening and Disgraceful. Period. End of Story.

It is sickening. The fact that they let this guy hang around after what he did makes me want to puke. Spanier, Curley, and Joe should be gone. Nothing would make me happier than a clean start and a house cleaning. People say Paterno did the right thing by letting his "boss" know. I disagree. He should have went to Police. Banned Sandusky from anywhere near the university. Wash his hands from him. By all accounts, he didn't.

This is indeed a horrible situation. If the allegations are proven to be founded, I feel that prosecution should be carried out to its fullest extent. However, to enter a public forum and gleefully howl about the situation is in extremely poor taste. It shows no class at all, and no respect whatsoever for the alleged victims and the innocent people adversely affected.

I agree everyone needs to go, they need to clean house completely. Shame Joe has to go out this way, but no one to blame but himself for not handling the situation better when he found out what Sandusky was doing. Urban Meyer anyone? ;)

Yugoidar it is a sick situation, but that is all some fans have to talk about. They get joy out of Penn States failures so much that the fact that so many kids lives were damaged means nothing to them. They are just happy it happened to Penn State. If you look at a certain teams messageboard, you will see how sick and pathetic their obsession with Penn State is.

As for Penn State, I follow Penn State because I liked their football team. I don't follow them because of "Success with Honor", "doing it the right way", and I don't follow them because Joe Paterno is the coach. I followed Penn State because I grew up watching them, because I loved the brand of football they played, because I loved their simple uniforms. I watch football for football, not propaganda or politics. I don't believe a word Joe Paterno says in his press conferences and I don't read his books. I will be a Penn State fan long after this regime is gone which should be no later than tomorrow. Tuesday Joe Paterno should announce that this week will be his last home game at Happy Valley. Spanier, Curley, and anyone else who had knowledge should be gone. There should be a complete housecleaning. I think the majority of Penn State fans want the same thing. You have Joe Paterno worshippers, but i think many are ready for a change. This is the time to do it.

Even before all this I'm pretty sure this weekend would be Joe's last home game. And Kirk I'm like you I will be a Penn State fan long after Joe is gone, and he has nothing to do with me being a PSU fan. As a kid I used to watch PSU every weekend, and since my fan dad is a die hard Pitt fan, I was also a Penn State just to bug him.

Keeps getting worse, turns out the GA who saw Sandusky with the boy in the shower in 2002 was Mike McQueary. And in 1998 two accounts of sexual assault by Sandusky were reported to Ray Gricar, yes the same Gricar that mysteriously vanished in 2005, and he didn't do anything about it. And apparently Spainer knew about this and didn't do anything either.

The thing that makes me sick are the select few that have defended Paterno on messageboards. I would say 90% of the people are furiuos and want Paterno to be held accountable, however, there are the few who say Paterno did what he should? Really? So Sandusky still had access to the campus for 9+ years after you were told about the abuse. Make no mistake Paterno runs this University and it is all on him. He tried to protect the Penn State "image" in my eyes and he needs to go as does anyone associated with this. I would not even be surprised that Mcqueary has the position he has right now in exchange to keep quiet. Nothing would surprise me at this point.

Kirk couldn't agree more about being angry with people trying to stick up for Joe. If I was told this, yes I would've told the AD, but I sure as hell would've told the State College police and banned Sandusky from the university as well. And like you said, McQueary might have the position he has in exchange to shut up and keep hush hush. Which is disgusting to even think about but very possible, once again everyone must go. Spainer, Curley, Joe, and the entire staff. They need to completely clean house after this.

After Joe's statement, I am now at a loss for words. McQueary holds the key to this whole thing now.

Joe's statement was about what I expected to hear from him but hoped I wound't hear. In my opinion, he is a pathetic man who thinks he is a God. I hope he goes and his legacy is tarnished. He talks to people like they are imbiciles. He basically put everything on Mike Mqueary and washed his hands of everything. Competely sickening.
