Again I say......all you hear about is Joe Pa yet the accused Jerry S is not even mentioned. It's almost loke Joe did the unmentionable. Paterno did what he had to do, the DA at the time found no credible evidence. Our present governor at the time was Attorney General......where was he?????
The whistle blower at the time was a grad asst. accusing a distinguished member of the staff that was there for years. Would you call that person in and question him??? I think not.
People are saying that Joe covered this up to protect the University.......how is this any different from what the higher ups did when they fired Joe? Are they protecting the university???
And what about the "red head" why is he still on the sidelines???

Bottom line.....Joe got screwed. Hope all you nay sayers are satisfied! You took down a legend you should be proud!

Here is my take, whether or not you agree on the firings at PSU. Everones anger shoulnd't be on JoePa or (the grad asst.) but on Sandusky. He did these unthinkable acts. Was JoePa right, no. Should he have to take all of the blame and punishment from the media and fans, no.

The Penna. State Univ. is showing how little they care about anyone but themselves and their image. Because Mike McQueary "witnessed" an attack, he is still on staff because he has leverage with the prosecutor. If anything is more disgusting other than the abuse itself , I haven't seen it! McQueary saw it, didn't stop it, ran home to his daddy, and didn't even tell Joe until the next day....WTF? And McQueary is coaching from the box (in Joes' chair probably)

Consulted the victims? The Grand Jury already did that for them. So you are saying that the victims and their parents may not want to be associated with the downfall of Paterno after what they have been through? Heck, maybe they don't want to be responsible for the Creamery removing Peachy Paterno from their list of flavors. How disappointing would that be?

I think Eagle has made a great point. How is McQueary getting off the hook? He wasn't a kid. He was a 28 year old man. If he would have just whopped JS right then it may have been done.
Tried to put myself in the situation and think I would have just taken a board to the back of his head and then let the cops mop him up. Can't see a jury convicting anyone of assaulting a man sodomizing a child.
