It doesn't matter what the color of skin the guy has if he and most of his teammates can get there before you and most of your teammates do! As with say_oww, I assume every team playing into December has to have worked hard to make that happen.
Its all good Blue Blood but if my response is one of the them you considered playing the ""race card", here is why. My response is mainly to Manfred's referral to "Jimmy the Greek once said it was genetics". Honestly Jimmy's comments in some ways made and do still make sense in a historical context...But "joking" or not referring to the jimmy the greek scandal is bringing up race, I, or really no other poster with a "counter" response, in ways have not "pulled" any race card that was not already pulled by that statement or referral to Jimmy.

While I don't agree with all facets of everyones opinion (God gave us the right to have them) I enjoy reviewing them and occasionally give a counter...But I must admit i am caught in a bit of a moment I normally don't get into...and that is from that "race card" statement..

I just finish with "race card" statements against somebody is the biggest load of manure sometimes. I know idiots that use that card that are way of base , Sadly it happens in life and upsets us all no matter what color...but especially in the context of these board I just hate when the accusation is used, and all this "race card" is simply someone giving their opinion. One side can't cry "freedom of speech" and when someone gives a slightly different opinion about their neighborhood/team etc. they are playing a "card"...it like some cases of "welfare" and "disability"...some people on either of these programs do need to get off their hindquarters and be more productive...I know some on "disability" that pillage the system worse than any welfare person but which one sounds more dignified and better...An opinion is an opinion and we all have a right to it, sometimes its not cool to accuse anyone of using a race card when they simply are using the same rights everyone else to stick up for something and give an opinion...

BTW for D-5 fans one of these days you'll get another very strong NS, Windber, etc. team that will face a "weaker" D-7 team like , Serra /:) , and be bigger, stronger and faster... ;)

Say oww, your true colors finally come out. I sure hope not but Man you are wrong. Really, really wrong. Your "Jimmy the Greeklike" comments are offensive.

Do not fear competition say oww....embrace it and support those who want to compete. Give them a chance to do so. Do not fear those who are faster, stronger, bigger say oww. Seek them out to compete against. Push yourself to b your best ... To achieve excellence. DO NOT MAKE EXCUSES OR BLAME OTHERS FOR YOUR FAILURE TO COMPETE! You demean yourself and, when your excuse is based on anothers race or genetic make-up you demean the other and the charachter they exhibited and hard work they put in toward achieving their goals and accomplishments.

If u ever faced real competition on a consistent basis and were required to compete your views would b much different. You would embrace it and those who forced you to give your best so u could achieve your potential. As it stands you are a product of your environment.

Big Ike - first of all, the Jimmy the Greek reference was so stupid, I had not even given it any thought before my response. I probably should have and acknowledged that in my post. When you began your post with "when teams like Clairton win the kids never "work hard" or anything but it is pure genetics", I felt the need to reiterate, as say_oww had, that the hard work part was a given for any team making it this far into the post season. I will say that my "playing the race card" reference was mostly directly at someone generalizing all people from any area as "rednecks" and/or "racists", especially when that charge was based on the words of John Murtha, a crook and and idiot. I have always challenged anyone I have ever come in contact with who has displayed prejudice in any aspect of a person, whether it be race, ehtnicity, the side of town someone comes from, or whatever, and I am offended by the knee-jerk use of "racist" and do consider that plying the card.

Psycho, apparently reading comprehension isn't one of your strong suits... To summarize, in typical fashion, you make a ridiculous insinuation about a game you know nothing about and then call me a racist because I commented that Clairton's kids were much faster than NS. You do realize that in doing so, YOU just showed YOUR racial prejudices by being so quick to project them onto others!!!

I just feel very fortunate that my DNA gave me much more intellect than yours did - whoops, are you gonna call me bigoted for that comment, too??? The reality is that IF YOU WERE EVER ACADEMICALLY CHALLENGED (ninth grade algebra doesn't count), then maybe you would realize the folly of your comments. You should not fear academic pursuits, psycho, you should embrace them. Science, math, philosophy, art, literature, biology, chemistry, physicis, psychology, ethics, and history are subjects that can give meaning to your everyday life. Do not be afraid of pursuing these subjects, psycho. Once you have studied, you will find that making your own rational decisions and drawing your own conclusions is not only easy, but a productive way to live your life and to serve your fellow man. I urge you to get started now psycho. Just because you never finished high school doesn't mean you can't go and earn that GED. And when you finally have that diploma, and you have turned your tassle to the left side, then you can perhaps go to college where you can learn even more about all of these subjects, and perhaps earn a degree whereby you can find employment doing something that you enjoy. Life doesn't have to be negative, psycho. Don't let a little thing like lack of education be the one thing that God didn't give you. You can offset your "genetics" by simply logging onto http://www.getmyged.com.
