Todd Graham leaves Pitt for Arizona State

The implication that the Pitt job is a stepping stone with Majors and Sherrill is just not true. Was Urban Meyer using Florida as a stepping stone. Coaches move on for various reasons. Some NEVER leave, even when everyone wants them to. Majors almost won the Heisman Trophy at Tennessee and it was his DREAM job. Who wouldn't want to coach at their alma mater? And when Sherrill got the job, he wasn't going around HOPING it would lead to a different program. For him it turned out to be the right place at the right time. Graham, however, was a shyster. He had a pattern. One year at Rice, a couple at Tulsa, one at Pitt. He was the ONLY one to use Pitt as a stepping stone. Hopefully alot of schools can learn from this experience at Pitt.

Unless Pitt gets someone that is a Pitt Grad or Pittsburgh roots this will happen anytime the university has success which probably won't be and hasn't been often. I had to laugh yesterday when I heard some Pitt fans mentioned Mark Richt, Bill Cowher, John Gruden, Kirk Ferentz, and yes Mike Ditka as replacements. Wanny might have been a terrible gameday coach but he loved that school and sold it well. I think Pitt is best going with Austin, Russ Grim, or possibly the carcus of one of the QB's from one of the national championship teams in the 1800's that are remembered so well.

I think that PSU should hire someone of the stature of Joe Paterno because he ran a clean program and never had an NCAA violation.

Funk Todd Graham! Those kids played their hearts out all year & led 11 games in the 4th quarter. The HC is accountable for 'sealing the deal' , so to speak & TG came up short. I seriously think Pitt gets a break w/ him bolting. And, I do think Tom B. would be a great hire but Nitwits have to face that he is getting a token interview @ UPS (they must 'clean house') & Pitt would never hire Bradley now because the fallout of the abuse scandal WILL get uglier, last for a year to two, more charges will ensue & any major university will shy away from from Tom for that reason alone.
