Bedford vs. Westmont

Post by Lefteyelouie »

Bedford wins 48-19.

Really dominated the whole match. Won every toss up match.

145- Williams Bed 5-2 over Patton. I thought that was a bit of an upset, but Williams controlled the match well.

I was really expecting a good match at 113 between Blackburn and Easter but Easter totally dominated. Hes looking really good this year. Duplin is also intimidating, i would not want to step out on the mat with him. Also who is bedfords 106? i think his name is Warren? at times he showed shome good stuff it looks like he has some potential.

Easter is REALLY good. Blackburn is a pretty high caliber kid. I think the final was 14-1.

I agree Duplin looks really intimidating.

I would have liked to see what Brett could have done against Burnhiemer.

Jabel? Is Warren's first name I believe.

I thought it was jake! He beat north stars colton gennett 6-4 in o.t. a couple nights ago. Easter is the real deal and if he keeps working hard, can win at states this year! He was tough last year. Is he a sophomore or junior this year?

Wow, he can be a 3 time state champ. The kid is good. Saw him at regionals and he has alot of talent for wrestling like he did for only a freshman.

As a life-long Hilltop fan, that was a tough one last night. The boys wrestled hard and we definitely are hurt by the graduations. Congrats to Bedford.

The talk of Easter being a potential state champ sparked my thinking, when was the last Bedford wrestler to win a state championship? It seems like the team is always strong, they definitely know how to use the system to keep point scoring to a minimum across the board, but do you think that style of wrestling ultimately hurts them on the individual level?

PS...did anyone see the WH girl pin the Bed kid in the JV match?

As far as using the system ... I'm guessing that is primarily referring to Grimes @ 132 and Clark @ 145, 2 wrestlers whose styles don't really impact their state title chances. In fact Grimes's style probably helped him pull off a big upset in the D5 semifinals last year, when he kept a match close against a heavily favored opponent, then scored a bunch of points late to win.
