Can't rank Archbishop Wood that high.
Archbishop Wood lost to WPIAL Pittsburgh Central Catholic this season. Pittsburgh Central Catholic later lost to WPIAL Upper St. Clair.

They lost to PCC in the first game of the season 20 - 17. I think Wood really just got way better as the season went on and if they played Pittsburgh Central Catholic again probably would beat them by 3 TD's. But thats just my personal opinion and outlook on it.

Archbishop Wood did lose to PCC 20-17 the first game of the year but if you actually watched the game you would have saw Wood should have won. Wood was driving late down to PCC's 8 yard line with less than a minute left. PCC was gased. They had absolutely nothing left in the tank. Then a lightining storm came in and stopped the game for an hour. PCC was able to catch threir collective breathes and stop Wood. Then, Wood hit the field goal. All video shows it was good and the ref called it no good. BTW this was the very first game of the season. To judge how good a team is now by a game 16 weeks ago is ridiculous.

Tyrone played a hell of a game, but was not the better team. LC would have been up 14-0 at half if their coach would have kept handing it off near the end of the half. They drove right down the field running the ball, then inexplicable threw twice when Tyrone came up with the interception. Again, Tyrone played outstanding to have a chance to win in the end. The bettter team won.

The better team definitely won here today. But Tyrone showed the heart of a champion out there, and no one can take that away from them. To come up short like that must have been devastating but in the end (judging by some of the pictures of the return home parade downtown) they seemed to be pretty happy with their efforts. They're losing a lot of talent, but there is a good couple classes coming up (linemen and all to boot) from the JH system...Tyrone will be back. Mark my words.

If they played again today Wood easily wins by 20+. Wood might be top 10-15 in the country material.

I think Lancaster Cath would beat Clairton based on a few factors: LC is a big physical team…in some ways like Southern Columbia with their size and physicality, but LC has what SC doesn't -- playmakers. So offensively they would be able to drive the ball more on Clairton and get those big third down conversions which is something SC struggled with on Friday..

As to the All-star team conversation I still think it's a no brainer that the all-star team would win.
