I think you'll see Replogle at 113 by districts.

Yah, he will wrestle tougher down in weight. I can't believe berlin dropping all these matches already to township and now meyersdale! Berlin was suppose to be the powerhouse in the county. They did excellent in the sheetz tourney, but can't beat the county teams head to head. North star will be another tough test for them!

Yeah I agree I am surprised that Berlin has dropped matches already. Are they a young team that will improve a's the year goes on or just not living up to expectations?

Somerset is/was the powerhouse in the county, and Shade's empty roster looks to have the basement all to themselves. Berlin appeared to have more coming back then most of the other 4 squads, but they sure haven't looked like it in their two duals thus far.

berlin has craig, dauphinius, heffner, as seniors and the rest are jr,soph., and fresh. Alot of the juniors have been starting since freshman and they have fochtman and dearmitt at 113 as the 2 fresh. Fochtman is going to be a good one for 4 years. shade would have been strong this year, but 5 guys just decided to not go out for there senior years that have been there since freshman. I heard the coaches got at least 2 to come back to fill some weight classes that were decent last year. 1 kid is also suspended and a decent wrestler. Shade will have 3 wrestlers that will have a chance at districts this year in 106 pakstis, 160 otten, and 170 aikey who was a freshman last year and won 20 matches and pounded dunbar from berlin/ meyersdale at districts last year and gives otten all he can handle in practice. Somerset is a way bigger school than the counties others and just came in d-5 so Yes they are definitely stacked this year again and will be a tough team to beat for any team around here.

Berlin will be a powerhouse but to compare a good showing at Sheetz tourn to losing two duals to CT and Meyersd doesn't make sense. First, dual meets are not about your good wrestlers but mostly about your weak weights not getting pinned. Second, Berlin will get better during the season.. some teams do and some like North Star stay flat. Third, the coin toss can swing the points 7 to 9 if your coach can judge talent on both teams.
Somerset is very young, I think three starting Freshmen and 5 starting Sophmores. Berlin will do well at the Thomas BEDFORD Tourn.
Does anyone think it is possible for every Somerset County school to send a wrestler to STATES??? Cahill-Berchick CT, Otten Shade, McKenzie Meyersd, Craig Berlin, Roberts NS and someone from Somerset???

A) I thought that the Sheetz tournament caliber of wrestling was way down this year. Hopefully for next year they can improve some of the teams there and the Cambria County schools can rebound as overall as this seems like a particularly down year for the county.
B) Berlin lost their 2 duals because they only won 6 of the 14 matches each time, not so much due to their weak weights getting pinned.
C) Historically I've thought that North Star is a squad that improves more throughout the season then Berlin does. See last year @ Windber as an example.
D) Berlin @ Thomas Tournament - define "well", as they finished T11th last year. I certainly don't see them competing with Somerset, Bedford, Jefferson Morgan, and Claysburg for the title.
E) Good point on the 6 Somerset County schools. fwiw PA Wrestling rankings have Cahill 12th, Otten 13th, Craig 18th, Roberts 1st + Somerset's Lohr 14th, Darr 15th, and Sutton 14th.
